Job description

The Storekeeper plays a key role within the Testing & Measuring Equipment Cell (TMEC), supporting engineering operations and flight safety by ensuring all technical equipment and assets are accurately managed, maintained, and available. This position is critical in sustaining aircraft serviceability through effective logistics support, high levels of accountability, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.

TMEC is a critical enabler of engineering output and flight safety, ensuring technical equipment and engineering assets are maintained, calibrated, and fully serviceable. The Storekeeper directly contributes to mission success by supporting the availability and readiness of engineering resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the receipt, storage, issue, and disposal of equipment and repairable items.
  • Provide day-to-day logistics support to ensure uninterrupted engineering activity.
  • Process, track, and manage items requiring calibration, ensuring compliance with safety-critical standards.
  • Maintain accurate and auditable stock records using inventory management systems.
  • Conduct routine stock checks and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Liaise closely with TMEC and engineering personnel to prioritise critical assets, particularly where delays could impact flight safety or aircraft serviceability.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organised store environment to promote efficiency and safe working practices.
  • Provide support to wider Squadron activities where capacity allows, while maintaining primary focus on TMEC outputs and flight safety requirements.
