Play Area Maintenance Operative
About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated individual to help maintain Wirral’s Play Areas, Outdoor Gym Equipment, and Multi-Use Games Areas, ensuring they remain safe, clean, and fully functional for the community.
This position is essential for safeguarding the community by maintaining high standards of safety and functionality across all play and recreation sites. The following is required:
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to play areas.</li>
<li>Experience in maintenance and repair of outdoor equipment (desirable).</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records.</li>
<li>Commitment to providing safe, high-quality facilities for public use.</li>
</ul>
About the candidate:
You will carry out routine and scheduled inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and identify potential hazards along with the following:
<ul>
<li>Accurately record and report all inspection findings, defects, and remedial actions in line with statutory and organisational requirements.</li>
<li>Perform cleaning, maintenance, and repairs on play equipment, surfacing, and site furniture, including signage, seating, fencing, and gates.</li>
<li>Replace damaged or worn components to maintain safe and accessible facilities.</li>
<li>Follow risk assessment procedures and escalate safety concerns promptly to prevent accidents and ensure public safety.</li>
