<h2>About the role</h2>We are looking to recruit a Senior Commercial Property Estates Surveyor on a 2 year contract to manage and execute the councils disposal strategy. We are seeking a highly competent and motivated individual to support the Council with energy and environmental improvements. The role will involve the development of standard specifications for maintenance works to include consideration of utility saving measures, policy/process mapping development, review of upcoming legislation to assess risks against asset portfolio and supporting work on Climate related projects to help the Council meet Net Zero Targets. It will require the post holder to provide technical advice and support on energy, water and climate issues to Council stakeholders.&nbsp;You will need to be aware of all applicable legislation, strategies and policies.
You will be part of a dynamic team that manage the Council’s utility portfolio and lead on the Council’s response to the Climate Emergency. This post will involve supporting the team leader (EEMS Utilities and Climate Officer) in the delivery of the team plan, as well as liaising with the other project officers. The role will involve working directly with stakeholders across the Council and so a friendly and professional approach is required.
Core duties will include providing appropriate technical advice, assessment and management of data, production of reports, writing of funding bids, project development and delivery. A good level of knowledge of utility and environmental/climate initiatives would be required. The individual in post will be expected to be able to manage their time effectively. Attention to detail, with a through and meticulous approach is also required. In addition, the post requires a variety of skills and experience as set out in the job description and person specification.
Training and support will be provided on an ongoing basis to ensure the post holder is supported to thrive in this position. The post will be based at Magdalen House in Bootle with an element of home working, the frequency of which can be discussed with team managers.

Job Title: Waste Partnership Manager Starting Salary: £70,027 progressing to £77,579 per annum - pay award pending Hours: 37 Location: Stevenage - some travel across the county will be required Contract Type: Permanent Directorate: Growth &amp; Environment<h4>About the team</h4>The Hertfordshire Waste Partnership (HWP) was formed in 1992 bringing together the ten borough and district councils in their capacity as waste collection authorities and the county council as Hertfordshire’s waste disposal authority (referred to as the ‘partner authorities’) and is one of 50 such partnerships throughout the UK.The HWP makes recommendations about the long-term development of waste services in pursuit of targets, objectives and principles detailed in the Hertfordshire Waste Partnership Agreement and in response to legislative changes, such as those being implemented as part of the Government’s Resources &amp; Waste Strategy.The HWP unit is jointly funded by the partners and employs a Partnership Manager and a Partnership &amp; Policy Officer. ‘WasteAware’ is the public face of the HWP and concentrates on changing ‘waste behaviour’ by focusing on the 4Rs: reduction, reuse, recycling and recovery. Working within a small team dedicated to the Recycling Centre service, you will continuously improve this essential service for the residents of Hertfordshire.In this role, you will ensure compliance with all applicable legislation, including Environmental and Health &amp; Safety requirements, while promoting continuous improvement in customer service, recycling performance, waste reduction, and reuse initiatives. You will travel around the county, providing visible leadership to remote teams and conducting frequent inspections related to service provision and compliance.
