Good Growth is responsible for delivering and implementing the Mayor’s environment, transport and economic strategies and for the effective implementation of the London Plan. The Directorate is also responsible for regeneration (where the programme is not housing led), enterprise, growth, capital projects and design work.
<h2>About the team</h2>
The domestic decarbonisation team is responsible for delivering the Mayor’s objective to accelerate and upscale housing retrofit in London in partnership with London Councils. boroughs, housing associations and other key partners.&nbsp;A&nbsp;new joint endeavour of the GLA and London Councils, Warmer Homes London, has been established to accelerate the pace and scale of quality retrofit across the capital. The team will manage the first phase of the Warm Homes Local Grant programme before it transitions into Warmer Homes London in 2026.
<h2>About the role</h2>
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and highly motivated, ideally with expertise in supporting programmes. You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, a well-informed and creative approach to problem-solving, the ability to operate in a busy and complex political environment and experience of working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.&nbsp;
The postholder will work on the delivery of major environment projects, or a portfolio of projects (where the project includes significant environmental components), in order to achieve desired outputs within agree timeframes, within budget, to specification and operational standards.&nbsp;
The post holder will have a good record of project support and will be required to work across a portfolio of programmes built around the key objectives of the Energy Unit.
<h2>What your day will look like</h2>
<ul>
<li>Provide project support, maintaining files and data spreadsheets for project related work and researching topics on the web and other sources, as required.</li>

We are seeking a highly competent and motivated individual to support the Council with energy and environmental improvements. The role will involve the development of standard specifications for maintenance works to include consideration of utility saving measures, policy/process mapping development, review of upcoming legislation to assess risks against asset portfolio and supporting work on Climate related projects to help the Council meet Net Zero Targets. It will require the post holder to provide technical advice and support on energy, water and climate issues to Council stakeholders.&nbsp;You will need to be aware of all applicable legislation, strategies and policies.
You will be part of a dynamic team that manage the Council’s utility portfolio and lead on the Council’s response to the Climate Emergency. This post will involve supporting the team leader (EEMS Utilities and Climate Officer) in the delivery of the team plan, as well as liaising with the other project officers. The role will involve working directly with stakeholders across the Council and so a friendly and professional approach is required.
Core duties will include providing appropriate technical advice, assessment and management of data, production of reports, writing of funding bids, project development and delivery. A good level of knowledge of utility and environmental/climate initiatives would be required. The individual in post will be expected to be able to manage their time effectively. Attention to detail, with a through and meticulous approach is also required. Hertsmere Borough Council are looking for HGV Driver/Loaders, to join our efficient street cleansing, waste and recycling collection service within and around Hertsmere.
The job involves driving a HGV refuse collection vehicle, being responsible for routine inspections, maintenance and cleansing of the vehicle.&nbsp; As part of the role you will complete all necessary paperwork and lead and also assist a small team involved in the collection of refuse.&nbsp;
&nbsp;
To apply you will need to have at least 1 years’ experience in a HGV driving role, &nbsp;you will have proven experience of manual handling and be capable of walking long distances and pulling and emptying refuse bins when required.
&nbsp;
This post is offered on a full time, permanent basis (36 hours per week) with opportunities for overtime. &nbsp;
