About you….
To be successful you will need to be:

<li>Qualified in planning and with membership or eligibility of membership for the RTPI</li>

About the role…. 
You will have an understanding and practical experience of working with Local Plans and strategic planning matters and specific duties will include:

You will play a key role in the investigation and management of a wide range of planning enforcement cases, including cases of a contentious and complicated nature.&nbsp; You will be required to draft and prepare enforcement reports and notices, independently manage and represent the Council at enforcement appeals (including public inquiries) and the role may also require you to represent the Council in court proceedings.&nbsp; As set out above, the role will involve working with applications in the urban area, the Green Belt, National Landscape, on sites within conservation areas and which impact on listed buildings. &nbsp;In addition, you will be expected to assist with the mentoring of junior colleagues.

The Planning and Housing Strategy Team is looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Planning Policy Officer to come and join our team working alongside the Principal Housing Strategy Officer on housing strategy and planning policy matters and other lead professionals responsible for climate change, biodiversity and heritage.&nbsp; We are advancing a new Local Plan for Lancaster district.&nbsp; The council has a strong record of keeping its development plan up to date and is also nationally acclaimed for its innovative work on climate mitigation and adaption.

We are looking for a professional who can produce clear and comprehensive written work including key policy documents such as Development Plan Documents, Supplementary Planning Documents and Planning Advice Notes and writing reports.&nbsp;&nbsp; We are looking for a confident speaker with great presentation skills and work alongside other team members at stakeholder engagement and public consultation events as well as presenting complex information in a clear and concise way to a wide range of audiences.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Developing and maintaining working relationships with other professionals within the Planning and Climate Change service, other council services and external bodies is a pre-requisite in this role, and will include providing support to colleagues in the Development Management team so that planning applications are determined in a timely way with robust information provided on meeting local housing need and by supporting our colleagues in housing teams to realise the council’s housing and regeneration priorities for Lancaster district.&nbsp;
About You
You must have a degree or postgraduate qualification in town planning that is recognised by the Royal Town Planning Institute and have Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Chartered Membership, or demonstrable equivalent experience to be eligible to securing Chartered Membership status.&nbsp; Alternatively, for post-holders with a housing qualification; Chartered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing (MCIH) or demonstrable equivalent experience to be eligible to securing Chartered Membership status. &nbsp;
You will already have at least two years’ of post-qualification experience in planning or housing, ideally within a planning policy or strategic housing environment and you will need to evidence a track record of working within a legislative/regulatory context and have a demonstrable understanding of assessing and meeting local housing needs.&nbsp;&nbsp; You must also hold a full UK driving licence.&nbsp;

The Role
The Council have decided to review its Local Plan. We need a Planning Policy Manager who can lead both the Council’s Planning Policy and GIS Team in successfully delivering a new Local Plan which will shape the district for years to come. About You
You will be an experienced planner which a strong and recent understanding of the plan-making process and know what it takes to prepare a robust and sound local plan. You’ll have an academic background in planning and will be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Due to increasing planning application fees, Elmbridge has recently created additional posts and we are looking for a Senior Planning Compliance Officer to join us in our Compliance and Trees team.
The Role
As a Senior Compliance Officer, you will help us investigate and resolve alleged breaches of planning control.&nbsp; Sometimes these could be quite complex cases which will draw on your experience and knowledge of Planning legislation and dealing with sensitive and difficult situations.&nbsp; Don’t worry if some of these may be new to you, our Team Leader is here to support you too.
You will also:

<li>work well as part of team but also on your own</li>
<li>support your colleagues with their workload and priorities</li>
<li>have experience carrying out investigations and gathering evidence</li>
<li>have experience writing appeal statements, preparing for Hearings and Inquiries</li>
<li>and have a good eye for detail</li>

Working with the support of the wider management team, you will be enthusiastic, motivated and have excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with a wide variety of customers of the service, as well as being politically astute.&nbsp;
You will see the other essential criteria in the person specification, but it’s your approach to work that will be your main asset.

Location
Elmbridge is located within Surrey, approximately 17 miles south-west of Central London.&nbsp; The River Thames is the borough’s northern boundary and we share borders with the London boroughs of Richmond and Kingston upon Thames and Guildford, Mole Valley, Runnymede, Spelthorne and Woking.&nbsp; Elmbridge is fortunate to have a wide network of open space including 800 ha of green and blue infrastructure owned and managed by the Council. We also have the historic landscaped gardens at Painshill Park and Claremont.
The Compliance and Trees Team is part of our Development Management service.&nbsp; We believe sustainable development can only be delivered alongside a robust planning compliance regime and ensuring the retention and enhancement of our trees and biodiversity.&nbsp;

Join Dartford and take the lead, managing our substantial Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funds,&nbsp; and our strategy for delivery of planned infrastructure&nbsp; alongside rapid development. If you have&nbsp; significant and transferable experience of preparing planning policy, of strategic development management, or similar strategic infrastructure planning, we would be very interested to hear from you.
Dartford has a new Local Plan in place, and is focused on active infrastructure planning to deliver the services and facilities needed to maintain high levels of sustainable growth. We are looking for a strategic and flexible thinker keen for a challenge in a positive &nbsp;and integrated Planning Services section.&nbsp; Demonstrable experience of&nbsp; developer contribution&nbsp; negotiations/ decisions (especially optimising the use of CIL funds), or of formulating policy-based recommendations on large scale&nbsp; development and investment, is desired.
If you have the right skills, you could be at the heart of securing new school, healthcare and transport and other facilities for growing neighbourhoods; multi-million pound infrastructure decisions. Political, quantitative, analytical and written &nbsp;capabilities, and a creative approach to problem solving and good communication&nbsp; are required. You will work with and line manage a CIL monitoring officer, whilst reporting to and being supported by the Planning Strategy &amp; Infrastructure Manager.

Dartford is the Kent Borough adjoining London on the River Thames. Conveniently located, the Borough’s connections are more than just the Dartford crossing and M25. The Council offices are adjacent to Dartford rail station, which links to a range of locations via Thameslink, the nearby Elizabeth Line, and other services. Ebbsfleet International rail station in the Borough is 17minutes to London. We have the award-winning Fastrack bus rapid transit system, and good bus services, including TfL buses serving the Borough. The area is a complex mix of both urban and rural, including Ebbsfleet Garden City and Bluewater shopping centre, but also the River Darent valley, marshland, heath, and Ancient Woodland.
