You will ensure residents of the Borough have access to local democracy whilst upholding the principals of good governance.<br><br>The successful candidate will become a key member of the Governance Services Team and will provide a comprehensive range of services, including support to various council meetings throughout the municipal year.<br><br>You will play a full role in the democratic life of the council: being responsible for the preparation of committee summonses, agendas, provision of advice during meetings, report preparation, ensuring an accurate and timely record of meetings is made and publishing Executive Member Decision Notices. You will need to be flexible in your approach and available to attend regular evening meetings.<br><br>We are looking for a candidate with good organisational and communication skills both written and verbal and well-developed inter-personal skills, as the post holder will be in regular contact with a wide range of officers and Councillors in a complex environment. The successful applicant will have a good understanding of how local government operates.
