You will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering transport and traffic schemes across the London Borough of Hounslow. This fixed-term post is responsible for managing the end-to-end process of scheme delivery from feasibility and design to implementation ensuring alignment with council policies and community needs.</p>\n<p>Working collaboratively with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders such as Hounslow Highways, you will lead projects, with a strong focus on road safety, sustainable transport, and public engagement. Your work will directly contribute to the Council’s Local Implementation Plan and strategic transport objectives, including casualty reduction and improved accessibility.</p>\n<p>This role offers great scope for professional development, including the opportunity to manage high value, complex projects and broaden your expertise in engineering design, stakeholder engagement, and project leadership within a supportive and collaborative environment.</p>\n<p><strong>About The Team You’ll Be Working In</strong></p>\n<p>The successful candidate will be joining the Community Schemes & Project Delivery team is part of the Transport and Parking Division within the Environmental Services Directorate. The team is responsible for designing and delivering community-focused transport and traffic schemes that improve safety, accessibility, and sustainability across Hounslow.</p>\n<p>The team is made up of skilled professionals including engineers, project managers, and technicians, all working collaboratively to deliver projects from initial concept through to completion. In 2021, the council’s Cabinet approved Brent’s Climate and Ecological Emergency Strategy (2021-2030) which set out our objectives and areas of focus for tackling climate change, including a major focus on consumption, resources and waste. We are delighted to be recruiting for this exciting role which forms part of an established team tasked with increasing recycling rates within the borough through innovative reduce, reuse and recycle initiatives.  </p>\n<p>The postholder will contribute to the development, implementation and delivery of the Council’s waste education, communications and outreach programmes. <br>This is an exciting time to work in Brent on the waste agenda. We have recently implemented major service changes from October 2023, including twin stream recycling for paper and cardboard for residents. There is a focus on reducing contamination to increase recycling rates as well as increasing food waste collections from kerbside and communal properties.</p>\n<p>The postholder will join the Waste and Recycling Team of five officers and team manager. The postholder will work closely with our waste collections contractor, Veolia, the West London Waste Disposal Authority, a range of council services and the community at large to help us achieve a major step change in the borough on the waste agenda. </p>\n<div><strong>The Person</strong></div>\n<p>We are seeking a passionate individual who is committed to environmental sustainability and has experience of designing and delivering evidence-led waste reduction projects for a resident facing service.</p>\n<p>You will have some knowledge of waste collection services and will be expected to follow key legislation, regulatory and policy frameworks and best practice from other areas to contribute to the design and development of innovative approaches to service design and delivery.</p>\n<p>You will be experienced in engaging effectively with diverse audiences motivating and inspiring change, with the ability to explore innovative and creative means of delivering improved service outcomes. We are recruiting an experienced heritage professional to support the protection, conservation and enhancement of the borough’s designated and non-designated assets. As a key member of the Placemaking team, you will principally act as a statutory consultee to provide expert heritage and conservation advice as part of the planning process. You will also work across a number of other teams and departments to provide heritage and conservation input on masterplans, site allocations and planning briefs. </div>\n<div> </div>\n<div>Brent has a varied built heritage. From the iconic Wembley Stadium to the Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Neasden, and a wealth of historic buildings, sites and monuments in between, there is a lot to be celebrated in the borough.
