<p>This role is available as a secondment to internal applicants in line with our secondment policy. <h2>About the role</h2><p>You will:</p><ul>
<li>manage a team of 13 commercial property surveyors, project and programme managers &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>
<li>support staff to deliver a professional commercial property service managing the council’s property portfolios</li>
<li>provide expert advice on all commercial property transactions</li>
</ul><p>To support you, you will be managing two outsourced estate management contracts which deliver the day-to-day estate management of the agricultural and commercial property portfolios.</p><p>You will commission commercial property valuations and lead the annual asset valuation process.</p><p>You will:</p><ul>
<li>use your commercial property knowledge and expertise to lead and support your team, manage the outsourced property management contracts and provide professional advice to all services across the council.</li>
<li>use your knowledge of the commercial property market and valuation to provide strategic advice and recommendations to support decision making and governance.</li>
<li>use your leadership skills to motivate and develop an experienced professional team to deliver an expert service inclusively.</li>
<li>have comprehensive experience of managing complex budgets to ensure the successful delivery of income and capital receipts to support the council’s financial plan.</li>
<li>have effective communication and negotiation skills to allow you to build constructive and collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.</li>

<p>Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours&nbsp;or term-time only.</p>

Team and service working arrangements are designed to support both employee work life balance and team collaboration. These would be part of your individual working arrangements alongside any personal preference agreed with your manager in advance of joining. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.</p>
