Required for 1 September 2025, we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and organised Cover Supervisor to join the staff of our outstanding school.&nbsp;
Ranelagh is an 11-18 coeducational, Anglican Academy (converter) which is oversubscribed and has an excellent reputation for academic achievement and positive school ethos.&nbsp; The school was rated ‘outstanding’ in its last OFSTED inspection in November 2024.
The Cover Supervisor’s role involves the delivery of work which is set for students in the case of their usual teacher’s absence.&nbsp; This is not a teaching position but the Cover Supervisor is expected to ensure that students remain on task and complete work to the best of their ability.&nbsp; There are also additional administration duties in curriculum areas to perform if the cover supervisor is not needed to cover absent colleagues.
Salary range: BGI 9 – actual salary between £20,245 - £21,204, including London weighting.
Hours: 33.75 hours per week, term time only, plus INSET.
The successful applicants will be enthusiastic, confident and well-organised and share the school’s commitment to helping all students achieve their potential.&nbsp; They will also need to have had some experience of working with young people, preferably in education.
This position may suit someone who is considering a career in teaching.&nbsp; Ranelagh enjoys links with Reading University and the Bracknell Forest Secondary Schools Training Partnership, supporting the training of between 5 and 10 trainee teachers each year.

About the Role:
You will play a key part in supporting the operation and optimisation of Reading’s Urban Traffic Management &amp; Control (UTMC) systems, including technologies like SCOOT, MOVA and Variable Message Signs (VMS) As a Traffic Signals &amp; ITS Technician you will assist with traffic signal controller testing, site acceptance testing, and the modelling of complex junctions to improve traffic flow. Your work will also involve helping to design and implement traffic control schemes, contributing to technical reports and drawings, and supporting the planning and coordination of events that impact the highway network. Additionally, you’ll liaise with internal teams, neighbouring authorities, and external stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of intelligent transport solutions across the borough. What We’re Looking For:

<li>A strong interest in transport systems and willingness to work towards relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ in electrical work or ITS).</li>
