About the role
We are seeking a Dual Diagnosis Worker who has a specialism in complex mental health and substance misuse to join our team in Croydon. This is a residential service which provides specialist mental health, complex needs, and dual diagnosis support to our residents. You will utilise your previous experience and knowledge, and provide specialist support to those who have been diagnosed with mental ill health and have challenges with substance use. You will deliver evidence-based interventions based on holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills.
Within this role, you will act as a specialist for comorbidity, supporting the team to achieve positive outcomes for our residents. Some of the duties may include:
<ul>
<li>Undertake joint holistic assessments, risk assessments, care plans, and interventions to support harm reduction and minimisation.</li>
<li>Set up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to support and advise on interventions and approaches to meet individual needs.</li>
<li>Help reduce episodes of crisis and assist residents/participants to access services which can offer alternatives to crisis support.</li>
<li>Work closely with support staff and clinical teams to support and advise them on interventions and approaches to meet resident/participant comorbid, complex mental health and substance misuse needs.</li>
<li>Support multi-disciplinary teams and the wider community teams with support, advice, signposting, and move on care planning.&nbsp;</li>

About you
We’re looking for someone who has specialist knowledge on how to support individuals with comorbid and complex needs, with previous experience in a similar role. We look at individual characteristics to be able to show resilience, solve challenges, and be proactive in your approach. You will have a passion for supporting people to achieve their personal goals, and achieve positive outcomes, this includes having the ability to engage with people who may be hard to reach and engage with. We further are looking for someone who has:

<li>An appropriate qualification which is relevant to the role which could include: National Diploma, Bachelors, or master’s in psychology, Dual Diagnosis, Substance Misuse or any relevant</li>
<li>Previous experience in a similar role, providing holistic assessments and support for people experiencing mental health challenges</li>
<li>Applied knowledge of the principles of risk assessment and risk management, particularly in relation to harm minimisation.</li>
<li>A commitment to promoting recovery, harm reduction, and active involvement in care planning.</li>
<li>Ability to apply relapse prevention models to promote sustained recovery and harm reduction.</li>

The team is made up of Social Workers and an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) and we support families who are open to Children’s Social Care on Child in Need and Child Protection plans. 
 
Key Responsibilities of the Perpetrator worker: 
• Conduct risk assessments in partnership with children’s social workers. 
• Deliver targeted 1:1 interventions with individuals who have perpetrated domestic abuse. 
• Support colleagues in developing confidence and best practices for engaging with perpetrators. 
• Promote trauma-informed and risk-aware approaches throughout your work. 
• Maintain accurate, timely records using online systems. 
• Work collaboratively with internal and external partners, including probation services. 
 
About You: 
• Proven experience working with individuals who have perpetrated domestic abuse. 
• Strong understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on children and survivors. 
• Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management, and trauma-informed practices. 
• Organised, proactive, and confident in working both independently and as part of a team. 
• Comfortable working in a hybrid model across home, office, and partner agency settings.

We are looking for a Deputy Service Manager to join our team based in Croydon, providing leadership and line management to a team of night staff which is around 10 people in total. You will be responsible for creating a psychologically informed environment (PIE) with person centred support during all hours. This service is a Forensic Mental Health provision for 27 people across 4 sites in Croydon. For your own personal safety, you will require to have access to your own transport as you will need to travel between our 4 sites during the night shift to provide managerial support to the teams. The teams support our residents with person centred support, to empower them to overcome their personal barriers with their mental health, to have greater independence and fulfilled living. The service is responsible for holding various activities, group sessions, and one to one support to enable residents to build their personal skills and experiences to achieve their goals.&nbsp;
