The role of the Community Services Driver Technician is to support the team by delivering Meals at Home, transporting residents on our Transport from Home service and installing Community Alarm and Telecare.&nbsp; Training will be provided.&nbsp;
The ideal candidate will need to have a background in community support services and be able to drive accessible vehicles up to a D1 license; D1 training can be provided if successful.
You will need to be organised, able to work independently and effectively within a team. You will need to manage your time well to ensure you are able to meet the needs of the service.&nbsp; You will need to have excellent people skills along driving experience.&nbsp;
You will be expected to deliver a person-centred approach to our service members. You will be core to the daily delivery of our services to our customers.

<h4>Job summary</h4>We are seeking a dedicated individual to provide effective support to a member of our Casework Team who is deaf. The team member’s role involves reviewing cases and investigating suspected miscarriages of justice. This includes examining material from the police, prosecution, courts and defence, as well as records from prisons, the NHS and local authorities. They may also interview applicants and witnesses or instruct experts in a range of forensic and scientific disciplines.Your role will be to provide high-quality notetaking support to enable them to carry out their responsibilities effectively. This will include supporting them during key meetings and training sessions, transcribing audio material such as body-worn camera footage, and being present during some calls. When not providing direct support, you will assist our Casework Administration team with non-urgent administrative tasks. This may include preparing case documents, updating manuals and procedures, dealing with correspondence, and other routine clerical tasks. It is essential that your working hours align with those of the individual you will be supporting; therefore, this position is offered as a full-time role only. While we offer flexible working arrangements, the successful candidate will agree a suitable working pattern directly with the person they are supporting to ensure their needs are met.This role is offered on a fixed-term basis, as the team member you will be supporting is currently on a contract until 22 September 2026. It is an exciting and varied role in which you will build up a specialist knowledge and understanding of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards system.&nbsp; Full training around this aspect will be provided in-house and your duties would range from dealing with enquiries, taking telephone referrals, data entry, monitoring and tracking cases and producing a wide range of documentation.
Exceptional communication skills are essential and you will be required to work with the organisation’s in-house computer system (SystmOne) along with Microsoft Office; with particular emphasis on Outlook, Word and Excel.
The organisation offers a very attractive holiday entitlement of 30 days (Pro Rata) in addition to 8 Bank Holidays per annum.&nbsp; The working pattern has some flexibility although it would preferably include working until 17:00 Wednesday through Friday.

Adult Homelessness Support Worker - Open Door (St Albans)Full Time: 37.5 hours per weekDo you want to make a real difference in people’s lives? Open Door is a night shelter providing emergency accommodation for up to 12 single homeless people in St. Albans each night. We also offer a drop-in service for people who are street homeless.The Open-Door staff team offer a trauma-informed, safe environment that is person-centred and supports those who come through our doors to get access to the help they need. This could include support to find move-on accommodation, claim benefits, counselling or signposting to specialist agencies for support with things like Mental Health, and drug and alcohol addictions.We are seeking a Support Worker with the right values and behaviours who can encourage and nurture a positive workplace culture based on respect and dignity for those experiencing homelessness who need support.As a Support Worker, you will:<ul><li>Assess needs and develop personalised support plans</li><li>Promote independence through life skills such as cleaning, and budgeting</li><li>Create risk assessments and safety management plans</li><li>Support aspirations and help individuals achieve their goals</li><li>Engage with residents in a variety of ways, including creative and informal approaches</li><li>Support individuals to attend appointments and access external services</li><li>Deliver trauma-informed support that recognises and responds to individual experiences</li><li>Carry out regular building checks to ensure safety and security</li></ul>Working hours: This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) worked on a rota basis.
