We are seeking a Pan Berkshire Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP) Coordinator to join our team on a full-time, permanent contract.

We are seeking a highly organised, compassionate and detail focused Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP) Coordinator to support the effective delivery of our statutory child death review processes. This pivotal role ensures that all child deaths of Berkshire residents are appropriately reviewed to identify learning, improve services and ultimately enhance the safety and wellbeing of children.
You will work closely with a variety of agencies including health, social care and the police, providing high quality coordination, data management and administrative support to the Child Death Overview Panel.
You will be able to work with sensitivity, professionalism and discretion in a role that involves managing highly confidential and sometimes distressing information. This post will require an individual with well-developed inter-personal skills who enjoys working as a team member as well as independently.&nbsp; You must be able to work proactively and enthusiastically to support the team.
There is a degree of unpredictability of service need so you must be adaptable, flexible and have the ability to prioritise appropriately.
<h3>About the team…</h3>
Since 1 April 2008 there has been a legal requirement that Child Death Overview Panels (CDOPs) conduct a review for all child deaths aged 0-17 years who reside in their area.
The job of CDOP is to look at the circumstances around the child and determine what can be learned, to prevent further deaths and better support families and communities affected by the death of a child.&nbsp;
<h3>Key responsibilities…</h3>
<ul>
<li>Managing the effective running of the system-wide pan Berkshire Child Death Overview panel (CDOP) and the delivery of excellent outcomes in reducing the number of child deaths across the whole of Berkshire and its six local authorities.</li>
<li>You will be the lead adviser in the Berkshire area regarding child deaths to provide professional advice to a range of agencies, organising and attending all panel meeting as well as strategic thematic reviews and task and finish groups.</li>
<li>You will lead on the development of the CDOP annual report, identifying clear learning outcomes and recommendations for further work.</li>
<li>You will lead on the Child Death Overview panel to ensure developing regulatory changes are reflected in the strategic purpose and governance.&nbsp; This is achieved via the terms of reference and working practices of the panel by keeping them informed of developments and government initiatives.</li>
<li>You will need to ensure qualitative and quantitative data is comprehensively collected and managed appropriately via eCDOP, the secure, online database system for child death review.</li>
<li>You will deliver training/presentations about CDOP to other agencies as required.</li>
<li>Providing line management support to the CDOP Administrator, ensuring their effectiveness and development, as appropriate.</li>

The Intermediate Care Service is a multi-disciplinary team of health and social care professionals working together to help residents live fuller, more independent lives. We provide fast-paced, responsive support to people in their own homes or residential settings following a hospital stay or crisis in the community. Our service supports individuals for up to six weeks as they recover from illness, surgery or injury, helping them regain confidence and independence on their journey to recovery.
<h3>Key responsibilities…</h3>

<li>Work as part of an integrated, multi-disciplinary team.</li>
<li>Provide and work within a planned programme of rehabilitation, care and support for people who use the service following an assessment of their needs, including personal care, meal preparations, exercises and mobility, cognitive therapy and therapeutic moving and handling.</li>
<li>To monitor and make observations of general behaviour, abilities and responses of people who use the service; record and report information in relation to the person’s situation and review out comes and risk assessments as the person’s condition changes. Maintain accurate records.</li>
<li>Undertake statutory and mandatory training, participate in identifying own training needs, attend training programmes and contribute to the induction of new staff within the service. Develop and maintain own competencies in all areas of care, support and rehabilitation.</li>
<li>To take an active role in health promotion including falls prevention, medication support, importance of activity, good nutrition and healthy living with a view to regaining independence in line with departmental policies and procedures.</li>

<h3>About you…</h3>
You will bring substantial post-qualification experience as an Occupational Therapist, with a deep understanding of assessment, planning and intervention to ensure that children and their families receive needs-led, tailored support.
As a natural leader, you will excel at building strong relationships, demonstrating analytical thinking and working collaboratively with the management team. You will take direct responsibility for Occupational Therapists and Student Occupational Therapists, providing guidance and support to help them thrive.
In addition, you will play a key role in supporting the Team Manager, overseeing performance, chairing meetings and contributing to recruitment and retention strategies for both the occupational therapy function and the wider team.

The Children’s Specialist Support Team (CSST) is a highly skilled and supportive team dedicated to working with children who have disabilities and/or complex health needs. Our focus is on keeping children at the heart of everything we do. We deliver a range of services, including support for children with additional vulnerabilities, statutory responsibilities for disabled Children in Need, care packages and short breaks.

<h3>Key responsibilities…</h3>
<ul>
<li>To work as a Senior Occupational Therapist as part of a multidisciplinary Children's Specialist Support team, providing experience and expertise to occupational therapy colleagues, occupational therapy students, non-qualified staff and multi-agency teams.</li>
<li>To support the Team Manager of CSST in delivering and maintaining high standards of performance ensuring continuous development and supporting children to fulfil their potential in light of their additional needs.</li>
<li>Maximising the effectiveness of allocated resources to improve the lives of children and families with disabilities.</li>
<li>Provide supervision and support to members of the team including coaching and mentoring others to develop performance and positive outcomes to those who they support.</li>
<li>Provide senior expertise to complex assessments and case management.</li>
<li>To support quality supervision to team members encouraging regular reflection, CPD and case reviews.</li>
<li>To support the CSST Team Manager in looking for ways to improve services, cost effective interventions and management of the performance of the team and service.</li>
