This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Asset Team focused on delivering excellent customer services within the Repairs and Investment section of Landlord Services.&nbsp; Reporting to the Project Building Surveying Team Leader, you will play a lead role in the successful management of specific capital works programmes under this and other contracts to improve our housing stock of over 5700+ properties.
With the ability to successfully work in partnership, you will ensure that our objectives around high quality, communication, and customer care are delivered, in line with agreed budgets, and that key performance indicators are met.
The role requires candidates to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of building construction methods and materials sufficient to identify and diagnose defects and arrive at appropriate solutions.

We are seeking an Asbestos Surveyor to join the Compliance Service within Building Services of the Housing, Neighbourhood and Building Services (HNB) Directorate. The role will have responsibility for asbestos management across our varied 17,000 housing portfolio and 900 corporate buildings. Candidates must be enthusiastic, good communicators and qualified asbestos surveyors with experience of undertaking asbestos surveys and managing asbestos across a variety of assets. Skills: The ideal candidate is someone who will: 1.	Hold specialist qualification related to asbestos including P402 - Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings or equivalent. 2.	Be an experienced Asbestos Surveyor with extensive experience. 3.	Be able to conduct a variety of asbestos surveys including management surveys, refurbishment surveys, demolition surveys and reinspection surveys, including sampling and recording asbestos information. 4.	Have knowledge and experience of construction related health and safety legislation and application. Specifically, the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. 5.	Have the ability to evaluate different options with asbestos management and remediation and preparing specification of works. 6. As a member of the team, the Graduate Estates Surveyor will have the opportunity to work on an extremely varied and diverse property portfolio. The role will include the day-to-day management of a programme of Landlord and Tenant activities, including lease renewals and rent reviews as well asset disposals and acquisitions, working, with the full support of the Council, towards becoming a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors at the earliest opportunity.&nbsp;This is an exciting opportunity to join the team and develop your surveying career with West Northamptonshire Council. You will support the Councils objectives of shaping a Property Strategy and Estates function that will be an example of best practice, and one that will deliver the best outcomes for the residents of the West Northamptonshire.&nbsp;<h2>Additional information</h2>You’ll bring with you existing experience from completing a recognised degree which will enable you to support the efficient and cost-effective running of operational and income producing assets to minimise outgoings and maximise revenue income.
