Voids Surveyor - Void and Lettings Team 
About the role: 
As a Void Surveyor the appointee will be expected to provide the full compliment of surveying services to the Council Housing – Homes department utilising the necessary skills, knowledge tools and techniques required to provide a comprehensive surveying service within a construction commercial and contracts environment. Your responsibilities will include building and sustaining relationships with multiple internal stakeholders and external agencies, creating a sustainable and streamlines commercial delivery practice, and managing housing and regeneration procurement projects from inception to completion. Additionally, you will ensure they are carried out in a timely manner, in line with the Council’s standing orders and audit requirements and in line with all relevant procurement legislation.

About the Ideal Candidate: 
The ideal candidate will have experience in working as a surveyor and collaborating on multi-service construction projects. The candidate would have experience in Voids or similar type of multi-disciplinary customer focused service, managing programmes of work utilising schedules of rates and a partnering approach successfully - on time and budget. You should have a background in delivering commercial management solutions in a diverse, multi-cultural environment, managing third-party relationships, and successful projects. Strong communication skills and the ability to converse at ease with colleagues, external collaborators and beneficiaries in accurate spoken English are essential. 
This would be a perfect opportunity for a trades person to progress into surveying

About the Role and Our Ideal CandidateRole: Planned Works SurveyorBand: 5Salary: Up to £51,201 per annum with pay award pending, market supplement of £3883 to be paid upon successful completion of probation, and retention payments.&nbsp;Sutton Housing Partnership, (SHP) is an ALMO providing all housing services and works for Sutton Council’s c7,500 homes, (c6,000 tenanted, c1,500 leasehold).SHP is in the process of procuring several high profile ECO energy delivery projects that will vastly improve the quality and benefit our residents' homes. The improvements need to be delivered to tight deadlines and to a high quality managing the appointed supply chain on-site and completed to high contract management outturns.&nbsp;SHP is seeking to recruit a Planned Works Surveyor who will lead on delivery and implementation of planned/capital works.Key Responsibilities:<ul>
<li>Deliver specific building capital projects and programmes from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, to budget and to the defined quality.</li>
<li>Maintain effective client relationships and appropriate communication with all stakeholders to ensure the client brief is adhered to.</li>
<li>Provide advice throughout all stages of the project from initiation, brief compilation, on the appropriate procurement strategy for individual projects and undertake the procurement of both consultants and contractors.</li>
<li>Lead, manage and motivate internal and external project teams through supporting, challenging and guiding the external project manager, to ensure project delivery on time, within budget and to the agreed brief.</li>
<li>Ensure that regular progress and financial reports are provided by the external project manager and/or the project cost consultant and monitor anticipated and actual costs against the agreed budget.</li>
<li>To adopt the latest construction materials and techniques when appropriate to ensure value for money throughout the construction phase.</li>
<li>Ensure that completed projects are handed over with the necessary documentation in place and undertake post project and post occupancy reviews are carried out to ensure continuous improvement in future projects.</li>
</ul>About You&nbsp;Experience:<ul>
<li>To be successful it is essential that you have experience of managing multiple projects, contractors and both internal and external stakeholders.&nbsp;</li>
<li>You should have a demonstrable experience of dealing with residential-type properties, social housing or housing associations, and be able to demonstrate your experience in these areas.&nbsp;</li>
<li>You will also need to have experience of managing internal teams and project managers.</li>
<li>Working knowledge of JCT / NEC form of contracts will also be a big plus point.</li>
<li>Understanding of construction stages such as RIBA stage 1 etc is also something the organisation will look for in the successful candidate.</li>
<li>Experience of large scale complex construction projects.</li>
<li>Experience of acting as a client project manager for construction projects.</li>
</ul>Qualifications:<ol>
<li>RICS, CIOB, Degree or HNC or relevant qualification and/or demonstrable experience in delivering capital investment projects</li>
<li>Ideally experience of working in partnership or for Social Housing Provider, with experience of managing works&nbsp;</li>
