<li>As a Driver your role will include the transportation of vulnerable clients in minibuses from home addresses to city wide day service locations</li>
<li>In the role as a Driver there will be use of tail lift equipment as necessary</li>

<li>The role of a Driver will be employed at the Fleet &amp; Transport Department based at Newton Road</li>
<li>As the Driver your contractual hours will a permanent, part time 24.5-hour split-shift, working flexibly in the mornings from 7:30am to 10:45am and in the afternoons from 2:30 - 3:00pm to 4:45pm – 5:15pm depending on the allocated route and flexibility to suit the service area needs</li>

We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Officer (Fleet Management) to join the team on a permanent basis.
About the Role:
As the Principal Officer (Fleet Management) for Wirral Council’s Fleet, you will ensure the efficient and effective management of the Service, including being the named Transport Manager on Wirral Council's Operator's licence. You will contribute to the development and implementation of the Council's Green Fleet (Fleet Replacement) Strategy.
This is a key post for the service, you will be responsible for the management (including compliance and HR functions) of Wirral Council's Fleet Management Service and depot and will manage 3 direct reports and a staff group of approximately 8 staff, including administrators, a Team Leader and Workshop Fitters.
You will be responsible for the programming of vehicle maintenance ensuring compliance with Transport and Health and Safety legislation. You will also be responsible for the computerised fleet maintenance system (e.g.: MOT, Tax and service histories) and other records including drivers' records and act as the first point of contact in relation to transport enquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
About the Candidate:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team and lead on the provision of a forward thinking and efficient Fleet Management Service. You will need to demonstrate experience of leadership, service development, and knowledge of operational delivery of Fleet maintenance and transport services.
You will hold be a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) (Module 1 and Module 2) allowing you to be the named Transport Manager on Wirral Council's Operator's licence, which gives the holder ultimate responsibility of fleet operations within the Authority, where compliance is of paramount importance.
You will be a resilient, tenacious, and an experienced manager working on and delivering projects that improve outcomes for both residents and the Council. You will have experience of managing and developing people to deliver exceptional services within either a local authority or private sector setting and a proven track record of managing and reporting service performance and financial management.

Casual staff required to act as Passenger Assistants on home to school transport for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities attending special schools and bases.
Passenger Assistants are employed to supervise children and to ensure their health and safety whilst travelling on vehicles contracted to the Authority. Casual staff will be employed to cover for sickness or leave of absence for permanent escorts employed by the Authority.

About the Role
This is an opportunity to join the team that is responsible for the design and development of the current bus network throughout the Liverpool City Region working hard to support the delivery of the Metro Network as an integral part of the delivery of all aspects of the Bus Offer in the region.
The role is fast paced and varied, and no two days are the same. The team is currently focused on the current bus network whilst supporting the Franchise team as we transition towards a franchised network.

The successful candidate will be directly responsible for a specific area within the Liverpool City Region and act as a point of contact for all key stakeholders in relation to the bus networks and planning for major events and disruptions on the road network. Therefore, knowledge of the transport industry is essential for this role.
