About the Role
This is a chance to join a talented team to deliver Bus Franchising for the Liverpool City Region as a key foundation for our ambition to have a modern, integrated and publicly controlled public transport system.
Bus franchising will give the city region greater control over fares, routes and timetables and allow services to be better integrated with the wider transport system.
This role has been established to provide focused expertise, coordination and delivery of social value activity within the Bus Franchising Programme. The postholder will play a key role in ensuring social value is understood, embedded and prioritised throughout procurement and delivery. Acting as a subject matter expert, they will work closely with colleagues, bidders and stakeholders to identify opportunities, shape requirements, support evaluation, and ensure Social Value commitments are effectively monitored and reported.
This is a fixed term role until 30/04/2027.
 About the person
We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding experience of Social Value, its importance and how it can be embedded through procurement and delivery. &nbsp;You will have a proven track record in working in a specialist or advisory capacity, providing guidance for colleagues and stakeholders. You will be experienced in working with external stakeholders and building collaborative relationships You’ll excel when it comes to attention to detail and be used to delivering results in a fast-paced environment. All fully complemented by data collection techniques, and monitoring and measuring performance to inform decision making and evaluate impact.
Positivity, along with creative and innovative approaches to problem solving will be second nature to you and you will be skilled at translating ideas into practice.&nbsp;&nbsp;

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Infrastructure Team within the LCRCA and contribute to the delivery of a modern, integrated and publicly owned transport system for the Liverpool City Region.
Investment in the city regions transport network is at a record high, and we need great people to provide (build) and, maintain transport infrastructure in support of this ‘step change’. In this role you would have a key role in overseeing the maintenance of the bus stops and shelters across the LCR and get involved in some of the investment programmes to improve the quality of that same infrastructure. The role (and any projects) will be predominantly highway and traffic related in nature with an emphasis on bus travel and chiefly focussed on supporting delivery of the Combined Authority Corporate Plan and agenda around reforming bus travel (franchising). The Authority is in the midst of retendering its advertising stops and shelter contact. Therefore, there is an opportunity to get involved in overseeing the day-to-day operation of this new contract to ensure the region is maximizing the value from that relationship in order that it contributes positively to the regions modern integrated public transport system.

Casual staff required to act as Passenger Assistants on home to school transport for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities attending special schools and bases.
&nbsp;
Passenger Assistants are employed to supervise children and to ensure their health and safety whilst travelling on vehicles contracted to the Authority. Casual staff will be employed to cover for sickness or leave of absence for permanent escorts employed by the Authority.
&nbsp;
Hours will vary from 1-20 depending on the individual journey and length of time the cover is required. Passenger Assistants will work in taxis, minibuses and wheelchair accessible vehicles.
