Set in the context of new emerging strategies, the successful candidate will support the delivery of the Council’s Move More and Parks/Green Spaces Strategies, through an approach of positive community engagement and support, effective team and partnership working and local collaboration.
We are seeking an enthusiastic candidate who can support the development and delivery of projects identified within both Council’s key strategies and other related strategic documents. Demonstrating knowledge and practical experience of engaging with local communities in order to support and encourage people to move more and engage positively with our parks and green spaces.
Building effective relationships and partnerships the postholder will help to identify and support key members of the community to act as leaders and motivators in encouraging people to increase movement and engage in parks/green space related initiatives.
The successful candidate will also be required to represent The Alliance at meetings with internal and external stakeholders i.e. service users, other Council services, clients, consultants, contractors and other working groups therefore strong advocacy, interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this role.
This position will primarily focus on the Staffordshire Moorlands area; however, the successful candidate will also play an important role in supporting work across both Staffordshire Moorlands and High Peak as part of The Alliance.

Senior Practitioner Child Protection Enquiry Teams (Front Door)

Are you passionate about making a real difference to children, we are looking for dynamic, motivated individuals to join our Empower U team as Missing Support Workers. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a focused engagement with children who have gone missing. As a Missing Support Worker, you’ll be offering, high-quality return home interviews with children who go missing sometimes as a one off or sometimes more regularly. You work will help in reducing future missing episodes, address contextual safeguarding risks and assess safeguarding concerns. Your reports will make recommendations to prevent further missing episodes based on your visit with the child. It is integral every contact is underpinned by strong engagement skills so children feel safe to talk to you and you are able to engage children who may not find that easy. You will need good people skills and experience of engaging young people effectively in creative and non-judgemental ways. You will have a caring nature and be professionally curious about why a young person has gone missing and the impact of missing on the child(ren). You will have awareness of why return home interviews are undertaken and the themes and trends around missing children. Also, your approach will be trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and culturally competent, to ensure these responsive visits are impactful and supportive even when you may only engage with this child on a one-off occasion. While you will receive good support you will work independently, mostly carrying out visits on your own. You will be required to manage your own schedule and caseload, often under tight timeframes. The role requires extensive travel across the region, so flexibility and self-motivation and self-resilience are essential. Healthy, Safe, Behaviours (HSB) Team – Supporting young people with Harmful Sexual Behaviour £52,431.00 to £64,811.00: (with market supplement) up to £72,311.00 (depending on experience)An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Principal Psychologist to join our Healthy Safe Behaviours Team (HSB). This newly configured service supports children and young people (7 to 17 years), open to Birmingham Children’s Trust, who present with harmful sexual behaviour. The team adopt a multi-agency approach, supporting Early Help, Safeguarding, Children in Care and Youth Justice Services; delivering bespoke and tailored interventions and programmes of education and support.We are looking for a Principal Psychologist, with significant experience of clinical leadership, service development, and working from a trauma informed, systemic and developmentally sensitive perspective. This new role will work alongside the operational team manager to provide clinical leadership for the ongoing development and delivery of this service in accordance with the evidence base and current best practice guidance.Previous experience working with children and young people with presentations relating to harmful sexual behaviour would be beneficial. However, we are also keen to hear from psychologists from other specialties with strong skills in complex formulation, assessing and managing risk, supporting teams (leadership, consultation, training), and the ability to look beyond behaviour. Experience working with children and young people who have histories of early adversity, social care or youth justice involvement, childhood trauma &amp;/or significant attachment disruption would also be desirable. You’ll help them build connections, improve wellbeing, and learn practical skills such as cooking, budgeting, and preparing for work, alongside creative and fitness activities to boost confidence. As a volunteer, you will be a positive, consistent presence in a young person’s life, offering encouragement, guidance, and a safe space to talk. Whether through befriending, mentoring, or shared activities, your support can help them grow in confidence and feel more connected.You might: <ul> <li>Spend regular quality time together, building trust and rapport.</li> <li>Encourage them to try new activities and experiences.</li> <li>Support their personal goals, whether in education, work, hobbies, or wellbeing</li> <li> Help develop essential life and social skills.</li> <li>Provide a listening ear during challenges or changes.</li> <li>Signpost to useful opportunities, services, and resources.</li> <li>Celebrate their achievements, big or small.</li></ul>Time commitment: We ask for 1–2 hours per week and a minimum commitment of 12 months to provide stability and consistency for the young person you support.
