The role will be to offer professional consultation and advice, chair and coordinate complex meetings, and manage allegations against people who work with children in paid employment or in voluntary work.&nbsp;</p>\n</div>\n<h2>About the role</h2>\n<p>The core activities of the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) will be to:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Offer professional consultation and advice, chair and coordinate complex meetings, and manage allegations against people who work with children in paid employment or in voluntary work.</li>\n<li>Chair complex multi-agency and multi-disciplinary meetings, making threshold decisions about the likelihood of significant harm and providing appropriate advice and guidance</li>\n</ul>\n<p>For an information discussion about his role, please contact Lorrisa Webber, Head of Service, on&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:lorrisa.webber@achievingforchildren.org.uk\">lorrisa.webber@achievingforchildren.org.uk</a>.</p>\n<h2>About you</h2>\n<p>The successful candidate will have:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>LADO experience (preferably).</li>\n<li>A degree level education with a relevant professional qualification in social work and active Social Work England registration.</li>\n<li>Experience of chairing complex multi agency and multi-professional meetings.</li>\n<li>Experience of building strong partnerships, maintaining relationships whilst providing constructive challenge if required.</li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills and experience of keeping and maintaining records.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of relevant theory that informs practice delivery and statutory legislation and national policy drivers that will affect children’s services.</li>\n<li>Strong organisational abilities including: time management, creative-thinking, problem-solving and multitasking.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>About our benefits</h2>\n<p>We are focused on creating a positive supportive environment, where you will have access to a really wide range of resources, as well as a competitive salary and all the perks to enable hybrid working.
