Job Introduction

Help Shape the Future of One of Kidderminster's Best-Loved Parks

Do you want a job where you can see the difference you make every day? Are you passionate about bringing communities together, protecting local heritage and creating opportunities for people to enjoy the outdoors?

This is your chance to play a key role in the transformation of Brinton Park.

Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund, Wyre Forest District Council is delivering an exciting programme to restore and enhance Brinton Park, creating a vibrant, welcoming and sustainable destination for local people and visitors alike.

We're looking for an enthusiastic Community Engagement Officer to help bring the project to life. Working with local communities, partners, volunteers and contractors, you'll lead the delivery of an inspiring programme of activities that encourages people of all ages to get involved with the park.

You will

  • Develop volunteering opportunities that make a real difference.
  • Organise and promote events and community activities.
  • Organise and help to deliver educational, heritage, conservation and recreational activities.
  • Encourage more people to discover and enjoy Brinton Park.
  • Monitor and evaluate the project's impact as part of the grant funding commitments.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has plenty of initiative and wants to leave a legacy for Wyre Forest.

If you're ready to help write the next chapter in Brinton Park's story, we'd love to hear from you.

  • Interview dates 4 & 5 August 2026
  • Part time, job share and secondments will be considered.
  • The role requires flexibility, including occasional evening meetings and weekend working to support events and community activities.
  • You will be required to provide a suitable vehicle for this post.
  • Fixed term until 31December 2027

We understand you may use AI tools to help you prepare your application. While these tools can be helpful, please ensure everything you share about your experiences, skills, and qualifications is authentic and truly reflects you. Your genuine story and real achievements are what we're most interested in!

The closing date for applications is 15 July 2026, but we reserve the right to close applications early if we receive a high volume of suitable applications.
