Senior Knowledge Transfer Manager (Cereals & Oilseeds)

Senior Knowledge Transfer Manager (Cereals & Oilseeds)

Management
£43,000 - £45,500 per year

Job summary

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Knowledge Transfer Manager for Cereals & Oilseeds on a fixed-term contract for 12 months. This national role requires travel throughout England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.

This role plays a key part in delivering a high-quality knowledge transfer service to Cereals & Oilseeds levy payers and agronomists.

We’re looking for a credible and knowledgeable individual with strong industry experience, who can build trusted relationships and work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders. A BASIS and/or FACTS qualification would be beneficial, but isn’t essential.

About AHDB

We are the independent, impartial public body that unlocks success in British agriculture. Funded by a levy from over 100,000 British producers in the beef, lamb, pork, dairy and cereals sectors, we support and champion farmers, growers and processors, often where no one else can or will.

We share the expert, evidence-based research and reports that inform on-farm decision making. We promote British produce to the UK public through domestic marketing campaigns, and we identify and open new global export opportunities to help farm businesses grow.

We help levy payers learn more, sell more and export more to remain sustainable and profitable. Together, we deliver the insights, the influence and the impact that farmers need.

Job description

  • Build and manage strong relationships with external stakeholders to coordinate research, on-farm trials and knowledge exchange across the UK
  • Deliver practical, farm-relevant outputs, translating AHDB work into clear, timely, actionable insights that support on-farm adoption
  • Stay up to date with developments across research, the farming industry/calendar and the wider supply chain, using this insight to shape AHDB activity
  • Translate farmer and industry needs into relevant Cereals & Oilseeds products and services while feeding back insights from delivery to continuously improve relevance and on-farm impact
  • Oversee the Strategic Farm network and the on-farm trials, ensuring delivery of high-quality outputs
  • Communicate the value and impact of AHDB’s work to industry audiences through a range of channels
  • Contribute to strategic planning by identifying industry needs and guiding future research and knowledge exchange, ensuring outputs are aligned to levy payer priorities
  • Gather feedback from knowledge exchange and industry activity to inform technical priorities, supporting and influencing AHDB’s technical direction and delivery through cross-sector collaboration

Person specification

  • Strong industry experience within the cereals and oilseeds sector, including exposure to field trials or demonstrations and/or agronomy
  • Experience of developing and delivering effective knowledge transfer activity across internal teams, translating research into practical, actionable outputs that deliver clear value at farm level
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build credible relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Results-focused, with experience of delivering against objectives and managing budgets
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to respond to changing priorities
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally
  • BASIS and/or FACTS qualification preferred, but not essential
  • Previous project management experience
