Programme Support Officer (Cyber Resilience) - 18m FTC

£34,359 per year

Job Description

Keep our digital systems safe, coordinate vital work and help protect the services our community relies on.

As our Programme Support Officer, you’ll be at the heart of our Cyber Resilience Programme, helping us build a secure, reliable and resilient digital future. We’re all in on strengthening our systems, and your superb coordination skills will make it happen.

What you’ll be doing

Every day, you’ll be at the centre of our Cyber Resilience Programme, ensuring our plans, actions and risks are meticulously tracked and managed. This role is crucial to strengthening our approach to safe, efficient and resident-focused ICT delivery following a cyber incident in November 2025.

Your day will start with checking the action tracker and RAID log, ensuring that outstanding tasks across ICT, HR and various service areas are progressing as planned. You’ll coordinate workstreams, chase actions and follow up with colleagues across the Council to keep everything moving forward, even when resources are stretched.

Communication and organisation are at the heart of what you do. You’ll coordinate key meetings, technical working groups and programme boards, preparing clear agendas, papers and accurate minutes at pace. Managing our SharePoint files and programme documentation will also be your responsibility, ensuring everything is organised, safe and easily accessible.

You’ll work closely with workstream leads to resolve queries and ensure any potential delays or risks are escalated to the Programme Lead immediately. Through efficient, proactive coordination, you’ll ensure our teams can deliver their goals with care and competence.

For further details, please review the Job Description and Person Specification.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be highly organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. To succeed in this role, you’ll bring proven experience in project or programme support within a complex organisation. You’ll need strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and keep programmes on track, even under pressure.

Excellent communication and partnership skills are essential, as you’ll collaborate with ICT teams, HR colleagues, service managers and senior leaders across the Council. You’ll have a strong understanding of programme governance, risk management and change control, coupled with experience supporting cyber security or ICT programmes.

A basic grasp of ICT technical language and cyber security best practice is vital. You’ll be highly proficient with Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Planner, PowerPoint and Copilot, with the ability to produce clear, accurate documentation and trackers at pace. An aptitude for technical learning and a clear commitment to equal opportunities, diversity and our values of respect, integrity and working together are essential.

Why join us

At RBKC, we’re all in – investing in our people, our communities and our future.

By joining our team as a Programme Support Officer, you’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive digital community where knowledge is shared and your professional growth is prioritised. We are committed to your continuous professional development, offering training in digital, data and technology leadership, alongside access to our We Are Learning Hub.

We understand the importance of balance, offering flexible working options and comprehensive wellbeing support to ensure you can perform at your best. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable, highly relevant experience in cyber security and programme delivery, while playing a key role in a vital, Council-wide programme that protects our services and supports the entire community.

About us

Kensington and Chelsea is home to diverse communities, thriving businesses and unique local places. Everything we do is focused on supporting our residents, strengthening our approach and creating a fairer borough.

As a competent and caring Council, we take pride in our work every day, ensuring our services are delivered with care and competence. We listen to our residents, act with integrity and work together to build a borough that is greener, safer and fairer for all.

Our cyber resilience team embodies the 'we're all in' mindset by working together to protect our systems and support our teams. Keeping our systems safe and functioning requires us to get stuck in, whether you're in the office, working from home or collaborating across services. Managing a Council-wide programme following our recent cyber challenges isn't always smooth sailing, but every ounce of effort you put into tracking actions, maintaining RAID logs and coordinating workstreams pays off. When you commit fully, these operational challenges become rewarding opportunities for professional growth and community impact.

Working Style: You'll be based in our offices for three days a week, playing a key role in serving the local community. Whether you're working on the frontline or behind the scenes, you'll be part of a dedicated team helping to support and protect the borough's services.
