Integrated Community Equipment Service is a joint service with Coventry City Council and NHS/Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust. We provide a service in supplying various items of equipment to residents of Coventry to enable and support them with daily independent living. To support and facilitate hospital discharges and prevention, working alongside various professions across the city. These can be Occupational Therapists, Physio Therapists, District Nurses, Social Workers, Doctors or Specialist Therapists.

What is the job role?

The cleaner/store person will work within the integrated community equipment service to process disability equipment which is delivered to and returned back from the community. The role includes the decontamination of equipment that is returned from the community through manual cleaning or use of the cleaning machines. Equipment returned to the service can range from small aids to large pieces of equipment which must be taken apart before cleaning and then reassembled once dry and ready for bagging.

The cleaner/store person will also work in the warehouse to process equipment that is either delivered to the service from external suppliers or is collected from the service by those who have ordered it. Therefore the role includes the assembly, bagging and storing of equipment as well as picking equipment from various locations around the warehouse. They will also identify equipment that is scrap, or requires maintenance, and will complete some tasks in maintenance to enable to the service to recycle equipment for reuse.

The cleaner/store person will need to follow policies and procedures to ensure health and safety and the smooth running of processes that are in place.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will ideally have experience of working within a warehouse environment and working within a team. Good communication is essential as you will be communicating with various colleagues and members of the public.

The successful candidate will be assembling , taking apart and transferring equipment from one place to another within the warehouse and decontamination areas. You will also clean equipment both manually and via use of machinery. Such tasks require good manual handling knowledge and skills and the ability to follow health and safety policies and procedures.

Basic computer, numeracy and literacy skills are required.

The nature of the role can be manually tasking and in a busy environment. Therefore the ability to work off your own initiative is required.
