About this job

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Pest Control Team Leader to join the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of the Pest Control service, ensuring efficient and effective planning, surveys and treatments, and the eradication of pests borough wide. You will lead a dedicated team of technicians, working in the field across domestic and commercial premises. You will be responsible for allocating the work and working jointly with the Street Cleansing Service Lead in developing and promoting the Pest Control service. The work is interesting; you will inspect premises representing the local authority in presenting and giving expert advice, work closely with various stakeholders to enhance the pest control services , meeting performance targets and delivering exemplary services.
Key responsibilities include: • Leading and managing the Pest Control team to deliver high-quality exemplary services. • Implementing pest management strategies, policies and managing projects. • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations. • Managing budgets and resources effectively, providing financial reports. • Engaging with the community and stakeholders to promote pest control initiatives. • Monitoring and reporting on service performance and environmental impact, be responsible for health and safety. Representing the local authority, presenting pest control reports and advice.

Special requirements for this post

Key qualifications and skills: • Extensive experience in Pest Management. • BCPA Level 2 Certificate in Pest Management • NEBOSH/IOSH and COSHH management • Strong leadership and team management skills. • Excellent knowledge of Pest Management legislation and best practices. • Strong financial management skills. • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. • A commitment to sustainability and service improvement. About you

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in Pest Management with a proven track record of leadership within a similar diverse and inclusive environment. You should be passionate about pest control and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders. The demands of this post will require a person who works well under pressure and to deadlines. We are looking for someone to have a BCPA level 2 Certificate in Pest Management.

Salary range
