Contract type – Fixed Term Appointment until 30th September 2028, with the possibility of extension or permanency

What you’ll do…

The apprenticeship offers an exciting opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of skills working in both forest and other habitats.

The role involves manual work outdoors in all weathers in the forest environment. The job is varied and wide ranging, requiring close team working and enthusiasm.

Where you’ll work…

West England Forest District is responsible for the sustainable management of over 37,000ha of land in the West and South-West of England. From ancient woodlands in the steep valleys of Cornwall, to the majestic veteran oaks of Savernake; from the spruce plantations of the high moors of Dartmoor, to the Douglas fir stands in the Welsh Marshes, and with the stewardship of the historic Forest of Dean. West Forest District covers a vast range of habitat and woodland types.

We are offering apprentice craftsperson roles based at our Bullers Hill office in Devon. You will work alongside our existing craftspersons and beat team to gain practical experience following a structured training programme. You will work across our Mid Devon and Dartmoor beats.

Salary range

  • £24,525 per year
