Flexible
£59,631 - £69,548 per year

Job summary

Working in a team with Head of Approval Operations, the Senior Manager will play a critical role in supporting the efficient approval of Homes England and National Housing projects. You will be joining a small and ambitious team, working with colleagues from across the organisation to help accelerate the pace of delivery.

The team are dedicated to delivering a first-class customer service, working collaboratively wherever possible, taking an innovative and creative approach to project governance challenges. The team embrace and value diversity in experience and perspective to foster good decision making and problem solving.

This is a rare chance to work across governance, project decision making and assurance, liaising with key stakeholders including Homes England’s senior leadership, and colleagues at MHCLG and HM Treasury in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working collaboratively with other Homes England functions including Corporate Governance, Operations, Finance, Legal and Government Sponsorship, you’ll be comfortable working effectively in a matrix management environment to ensure efficient and consistent support is provided to project teams to enable the timely approval of business cases.

The role will support the design and delivery of key strategic projects informing how we improve our processes, guidance and ways of working. No two days are the same and there will be a need to balance the day-to-day role with reactive project work, but this provides a unique opportunity for development and learning,

Job description

You'll be comfortable supporting the Head of Team with complex project approval and stakeholder management matters, aiming to support effective and efficient decision making. You will be proficient in working with senior leaders and comfortable preparing written and verbal briefings on specific projects and key matters.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as an Approval Operations team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.

With experience in project governance and approvals, you’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.
