Our school:

Thank you for your interest in this role. This is an exciting time to be joining Oaks Park High School.

We were proud to achieve a ‘Good’ outcome in all categories during an Ofsted Inspection in October 2023 in which Ofsted commented the following

‘The school is ambitious for all pupils, including those with SEND. It has designed a curriculum that sets out high academic expectations’

‘Teachers have strong subject knowledge. This is reflected in their high-quality explanations of subject content’

‘Pupils are respectful and polite. They understand the school’s expectations in terms of conduct and behaviour’

‘Staff know their pupils well, and they build positive relationships with them’

The school is an increasingly popular choice within the local community and we are delighted to advertise this role due to an expansion within the school and a larger intake of students in September 2026.

We have produced a short video so you can gain an insight into working at Oaks Park High School. It includes some of the staff you will potentially be working alongside and can be found here.

The post:

This is a non-teaching post which will give the successful candidate an excellent opportunity to work closely with young people supporting them in their school life, helping them to access a varied and exciting curriculum.

As a Lead Learning Support Assistant (LLSA) you will be part of a team working under the direction of the SENCo. As a LLSA, you will also take a lead role within the SEN team and in working with students, and further information about this can be found on the job description.

As well as the mainstream part of our school, Oaks Park High School is home to Horizon – the largest autism base in the country. This is a specialist provision, offering small teaching classes, that provides a bespoke curriculum for students with autism. Applications from those with experience in this area, or an interest to gain more experience in this area, are very welcome – please note this on your application form.

You will be expected to work effectively with both teaching and support staff at all levels as well as with parents/carers, students and external agencies.

See the job description/person specification (below) for further details.

Please note that applications MUST be submitted on a school application form (below). CVs will not be accepted.

Application forms to be sent to: recruitment@oaksparkhigh.org.uk

Closing dates for applications: 9am, Monday 20 July 2026

We reserve the right to interview and appoint before the closing date, should a suitable candidate apply.

Oaks Park High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. As such, the successful applicant will be required to undertake a criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). Oaks Park High School is an equal opportunities employer.
