CITY OF LONDON HRA PROPERTY SERVICES

Resident Decant Officer x 2

The City of London’s Housing Service manages 12 estates, totalling 5500 homes. Three of these estates are in the Square Mile (including the iconic Barbican Estate) and a further 9 estates are in neighbouring London boroughs.

Our tenants and leaseholders are at the heart of everything we do, supporting us as we strive to effectively manage, maintain, and improve the property that is their home.

The Major Works Team (HRA) is primarily responsible for the delivery of an ambitious capital programme of planned maintenance refurbishment to the Corporation’s social housing stock over the next 10 years. The Golden Lane Estate forms a significant part of this future programme, with major works including window refurbishment, roof covering replacement, fire safety works, electrical upgrades and communal decorations. The entire estate will also be subject to a rolling resident decant programme, which will require careful management, tact and resilience in equal measures.

We are looking for two self-motivated, empathetic and enthusiastic Resident Decant Officers, keen to work as part of a newly structured team and with a real passion for resident engagement within social housing. This will be an opportunity to shape a key role from the outset.

The successful candidates will have excellent people skills and significant experience of dealing with a range of customers and stakeholders, often in very challenging circumstances. Experience of complex refurbishment projects and/or resident decanting would be of huge benefit, either client-side or for a contractor.

Being customer focused and having the right attitude, drive and enthusiasm are also key ingredients for this role.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and as part of the selection process the successful applicant will be required to obtain an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check.

The City of London Corporation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The City of London Corporation is currently undergoing a programme to ensure that our pay and reward practices are competitive and equitable across the whole organisation, to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to thrive in the work that we do.

Closing date: 23:59pm on 10 Aug 2026.

Interviews will be held on 20 & 21 August 2026.

How many days a week you’ll be required to attend your workplace will depend on the requirements of your role. It’s important that you understand the requirements before applying to ensure you are able to meet them. We are committed to considering requests to work flexibly and job share. Requests will be considered by the recruiting manager in line with our policies and business needs.

For more information on our categories for workplace attendance, please view our guide here.

We will be reviewing this policy and approach at regular intervals to ensure we’re meeting our attendance needs.
