We’re recruiting for a Senior Performance Analysthere at Justice Digital, Data and Science to be part of our warm and collaborative Digital HMPPS team.

This role aligns against Senior Performance Analyst from the Government Digital and Data Framework

As a Senior Performance Analyst, you will play a leading role in providing insightful analysis to support the performance of Ministry of Justice digital services. You will provide the evidence needed to support decision-making, drive improvements, and develop maturity in performance measurement across a range of digital products and services.

We're looking for a Senior Performance Analyst to join our Digital HMPPS team, where you'll use product analytics to uncover how people interact with our digital services and turn complex data into clear, actionable insight. You'll help shape product decisions, influence service improvements, and ensure we're building services that genuinely meet user needs.

The role would suit an individual who is naturally inquisitive and confident in using data and analysis to challenge performance, ensure measurement focuses on what matters most, and identify opportunities for improvement. You will build positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels across the organisation, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to turn data into actionable insight that improves outcomes for users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will work with the Lead Performance Analyst in developing and maintain performance frameworks, including metrics aligned to product and service outcomes.
  • You will build and manage dashboards and reporting, delivering clear, actionable insights despite data and access constraints, using tools such as PowerBI, and Azure App Insights, and using languages such as SQL/KQL and M queries.
  • You will analyse data from multiple sources to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • You will improve and document data processes to reduce manual effort and eliminate single points of failure.
  • You will work with technical teams to improve data access, integration, and move towards automated reporting.
  • You will collaborate with product and delivery teams to ensure performance insights inform decisions and priorities, as well as the wider Performance Analyst community to share best practices.

Salary Information**

Base salary for this role is from £49,325 – £53,081 (London), and £42,914 – £46,182 (National).

  • New entrants to the Civil Service joining the MoJ are expected to start at the minimum of the pay band.
  • Existing Civil Servants moving on a level transfer will retain their current base salary or move to the minimum of the pay band for the role, whichever is higher.
  • Existing Civil Servants who are promoted will either move to the bottom of the new grade’s pay band or receive a 10% uplift, whichever provides the greater increase.
