Our Security Liaison team provide high level protective security support and advice to the Royal Household, protecting everyone living and working in, or visiting the Royal residences.

Joining this dedicated team, you’ll lead and support a small team of Screening Officers to ensure every visitor and guest gains the correct clearance in line with Royal Household Security procedures.

You’ll work closely with internal colleagues and external security partners to facilitate the security aspects of daily operations, official engagements and varied events. Job description

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and develop the Screening team, ensuring the effective delivery of screening operations to high standards of accuracy, compliance and professionalism.
- Oversee security clearances and visitor screening activity, making informed, risk-based decisions to support the operations of the Royal residences.
- Act as the escalation point for complex, high-risk or sensitive cases, determining appropriate action and managing screening-related incidents.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, GDPR and Royal Household procedures, maintaining the integrity of screening systems and records.
- Provide expert security advice to stakeholders and support the ongoing development of screening procedures, policies and best practice.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external partners to support daily operations, official engagements and major events.
- Drive continuous improvement through operational analysis, reporting, process enhancements and team training.

Person specification

Essential Criteria:

- Previous experience in security screening, vetting or intelligence-led environments, with an understanding of relevant legislation and the ability to make sound, risk-based decisions.
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to motivate, coach and develop a team.
- Confident handling sensitive and complex cases, using sound judgement, discretion and professionalism.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and influence at all levels.
- Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and team tasking to deliver accurate work to tight deadlines.
- Comfortable working with databases, systems and data to support compliant decision-making and operational reporting.
- Collaborative, proactive and adaptable, with a positive approach to delivering excellent service and continuous improvement
