Working with a significant degree of autonomy and professional judgement, you will play an important role in supporting strategic decision-making, coordinating business-critical activity and ensuring effective governance across the department. The role includes specialist support across public health and local authority governance processes, including the coordination and management of Freedom of Information requests, ensuring statutory deadlines, organisational standards and information governance requirements are met. You will need to be confident working with senior leaders, handling sensitive and complex information, and using your knowledge of public health systems and governance frameworks to support effective delivery and assurance.

About You

To apply for this post, you must have:

  • Substantial experience providing executive-level support to Directors or senior leaders in a complex organisation.
  • Proven experience of managing highly sensitive, confidential, and politically complex information.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities at a strategic level.
  • Experience of coordinating high-level meetings, governance processes, and corporate reporting.
  • Experience of line management or coordinating administrative teams.
  • Strong understanding of public health systems, partnerships, and commissioning environments.
  • Understanding of political awareness and the sensitivities of working with elected members.

In addition, we also expect you to share our commitment to our values and to delivering accessible and inclusive services which meet the needs of all of our residents. You will be asked to demonstrate your understanding of these commitments as part of the selection process.

Reasonable adjustments will be considered for applicants with a disability. We are a Disability Confident Employer.
