Foster Carer for Brent Children

The Post

Brent is seeking compassionate, committed, and community-minded individuals to join our dedicated network of foster carers. As a Brent foster carer, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, stable, and nurturing home for children and young people who are unable to live with their birth families.

Fostering is a rewarding and life-changing opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s life. You will work closely with our fostering team and receive dedicated support, training and guidance throughout your fostering journey.

Our fostering community is made up of individuals and families from all walks of life – you don’t need to be married, own your home, or have previous parenting experience. What matters most is your ability to provide a child with a loving and supportive environment.

This role is flexible and home-based, with a generous weekly fostering allowance, access to peer support groups, 24/7 social work support, and a wide range of training and development opportunities.

The Person

We are looking for individuals or couples who are:

  • Caring, patient, and supportive
  • Willing to work as part of a team with social workers, schools, and other professionals
  • Interested in supporting children from diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Committed to providing consistent care, love, and stability

You must live in the UK. All foster carers will need to undergo a fostering assessment and DBS check as part of the application process. We can support you through this.

Whether you’re thinking about changing careers, returning to work, or looking to make a difference in your local community – fostering could be the perfect next step.

Please note, you can be a foster carer for Brent even if you still work full-time, if you are retired, if you are single, if you are not a parent. Our Brent children need you.

We are looking for emergency foster carers, respite foster carers, weekend foster carers, part-time foster carers as well as long-term foster carers. We are very flexible and will work with you.

What We Offer:

  • A generous weekly fostering allowance of £350–£495 per child (depending on needs and experience)
  • Start-up grant and essential equipment
  • Free training and continuous professional development
  • Access to a dedicated supervising social worker in Brent’s fostering service
  • Membership to The Fostering Network
  • Peer support groups and networking opportunities
  • Invitations to social events, celebration days, and recognition awards
  • Ongoing emotional and practical support, including 24/7 out-of-hours help
