About the role

Are you confident, a team player and self-motivated? Can you demonstrate organisational skills? Are you passionate about delivering excellent customer service, and have a positive attitude to change and problem solving?

We are looking for a customer focused individual to join our busy Facilities teams, to help safely manage several facilities including the Town Hall, community centres, sports pavilions, public toilets, allotments and cemeteries.

The role will include undertaking minor repairs and maintenance of the facilities, health and safety checks and ensuring compliance, meeting and greeting hirers, and opening and closing facilities for hirers and contractors.

You need to be physically fit and mobile to undertake the full requirements of this role.

There is one full-time permanent vacancy and one 12-month fixed-term vacancy available. Please specify on your application form which position(s) you wish to be considered for.

Additional information

The role requires you to work a shift rota including early shifts, late shifts, weekends and bank holidays. The standard working week is an average of 37 hours per week on an eight week rolling rota. You will be required to undertake out of hours callout as part of the rota, for which standby payment will be applied.

A full and current UK driving licence will be an essential requirement of the role.

You will be required to wear a uniform which is provided.

You will be required to undertake a First Aid at Work qualification.

Employee benefits

We offer a generous employee benefits package, with a range of discounts, benefits and wellbeing incentives to suit everyone.

At Crawley Borough Council, you will have access to a structured programme of learning from day one, designed to help you succeed in your role and grow your career.

Our way of working

Our shared values and behaviours reflect the special nature of our council. We encourage all colleagues to put them into practice, whatever job they do. Take a look to see if we are the perfect match.

Crawley Borough Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We want to be an inclusive and diverse employer of first choice reflecting the community we serve and particularly welcome applications from all under represented groups.
