Job description

This is a senior analytical role within PATH, responsible for producing high-quality insight that shapes national understanding and decision-making on AI-enabled crime.

You will lead and contribute to strategic and operational analysis, drawing on intelligence, operational data, technical inputs and external research to assess threats, risks and opportunities associated with AI-enabled offending. Your work will directly inform senior policing leaders, national programmes and Home Office partners.

You will play a critical role in ensuring PATH is connected into the wider research, innovation, national security and government ecosystem shaping emerging AI capability in the UK and internationally. A core part of the role is to coordinate and share analysis across policing and partner organisations, ensuring AI-enabled crime threats are understood, communicated and acted upon consistently.

The post reports to the Criminal Threats Lead and works closely with colleagues across PATH and wider Police.AI functions to ensure the Hub remains at the forefront of policing’s response to AI-enabled crime.

Person specification

Some of your responsibilities will include:

​​• Lead and contribute to national-level strategic and operational analysis of AI-enabled crime, producing clear, evidence-based assessments of threats, risks and emerging criminal tradecraft.​​​


  • Develop and maintain a coherent national picture of AI-enabled offending, drawing together intelligence, operational data, technical insight and research from across policing and partners.

  • Synthesise complex and fragmented information into authoritative analytical products to inform senior policing leaders, national programmes and Home Office stakeholders.

  • Identify capability gaps, analytical blind spots and emerging priorities to support operational planning, policy development and future investment decisions.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with analysts, operational teams, technical experts, academics and partner organisations across the UK and internationally.
