    About the role

Adult Social Care relies on strong partnerships with care providers to ensure residents receive the services and support they need. Our Commissioning Team plays a key role in developing, managing and improving those relationships, helping to ensure high-quality care services are available across West Northamptonshire.

As our Commissioning and Performance Administrator, you'll be at the heart of this work. Supporting both Commissioning teams, you'll help keep provider engagement activities, communications, contracts and performance processes running smoothly, enabling the team to focus on service development and delivering positive outcomes for residents.

This is a varied role that offers far more than traditional administration. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with providers, partners and colleagues across Adult Social Care, becoming involved in activities that directly support the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of services.

You'll join a supportive and knowledgeable team that values collaboration, initiative and continuous improvement. In return, you'll be trusted to take ownership of key processes, contribute ideas and play an important role in helping the team work effectively and efficiently.

Interviews will be held in the weeks commencing 17th and 24 August.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Children and Adults Barred List check. West Northamptonshire Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

    Additional information

We're looking for someone who enjoys being at the heart of a team and takes pride in helping things run smoothly.

You may currently be working in an administrative, business support, PA or Executive Assistant role and be looking for an opportunity that offers greater variety, responsibility and the chance to work more closely with projects, providers and service development activities.

You'll be someone who enjoys building relationships, coordinating activity and bringing structure to a wide range of tasks. You'll be comfortable managing your own workload, confident communicating with people at all levels and motivated by delivering a high standard of work.

    You'll bring:

    • Experience working in a busy administrative or business support environment.
    • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience arranging meetings, events and producing accurate minutes.
    • Confidence using Microsoft Office 365 and business systems.
    • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
    • A positive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

    Why Apply?

This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your administrative expertise to a role that offers variety, visibility and the chance to be involved in work that makes a real difference. Working alongside providers, partners and colleagues across Adult Social Care, you'll support activities that help shape, develop and improve services for local residents.

You'll have opportunities to become involved in provider engagement, communications, events, contract administration, performance reporting and service improvement activities, giving you exposure to a broad range of work and the chance to build valuable skills and relationships across the organisation.

At West Northamptonshire Council, we're committed to helping our colleagues grow and develop their careers. As a large and diverse organisation, we offer opportunities to gain experience across a wide range of services, build new skills and explore different career pathways.
