    Job introduction

    About the role

Family Hubs bring together support, advice, activities and services for children, young people and families, helping people find the right support at the right time. Whether it's attending a parenting programme, accessing early help services, finding local activities or simply knowing where to go for advice, Family Hubs are here to make life a little easier for local families.

We're looking for a Business Support Officer to join our team at Daventry Family Hub and help create a welcoming, friendly and positive experience for everyone who visits us.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being around people. You'll be one of the first faces families see when they walk through the door, helping them feel comfortable, supported and confident they've come to the right place. You'll become a familiar face in the hub, building relationships with families, colleagues and partners and playing an important part in the daily life of the service.

If you enjoy being around people and like feeling part of a service that's making a difference in the local community, you'll feel right at home here.

Interviews will be held late August.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Children and Adults Barred List check. West Northamptonshire Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

    Additional information

You're probably the kind of person people naturally approach when they need help.

You enjoy talking to people, you're comfortable starting conversations and you genuinely care about providing a good experience. You don't need to have worked in a Family Hub before. What's more important is that you enjoy helping people, can make others feel at ease and are happy being the person others turn to when they need information or support.

You might currently work in customer service, reception, hospitality, retail, administration, education, healthcare or a community based role. If you've built your career around helping people and creating positive experiences, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll be confident talking to people from all backgrounds and able to make others feel comfortable quickly. You're organised, enjoy being part of a team and are comfortable balancing a variety of tasks throughout the day.

Most importantly, you'll genuinely enjoy helping people. The systems, processes and Family Hub knowledge can all be learned. The ability to make someone feel welcomed, listened to and supported is what really matters.

    Why join us?

Family Hubs are genuinely lovely places to work.

They're busy, welcoming spaces where families come for support, advice, activities and opportunities. Over time, you'll get to know many of the people who walk through the door and become a familiar face within the local community.

You'll join a team that's passionate about what they do, supportive of one another and always willing to lend a hand.

You'll be part of a service that helps families access opportunities, build connections and get the support they need. You'll see first-hand the difference that information, encouragement and a friendly conversation can make.

This is one of those rare roles where you'll spend your days working with people, building relationships and helping others, while also being part of a service that has a real impact on local families.

If you enjoy being around people, like feeling part of a community and get satisfaction from helping others, we'd love to hear from you.
