Our Private Sector Housing team seeks to improve the conditions and management standards of private sector housing.
You’ll assist the team in achieving this by leading on the changes brought in by the Renters Rights Act to the delivery of housing enforcement standards, ensuring private sector residential accommodation throughout the District meets statutory standards and helping to bring about improvements in conditions and standards of management for residents.
You will deliver service improvements by developing new working processes and building relationships with partners to meet the requirements of the Renters Rights Act.
You’ll be responsible for assessing a variety of properties using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) and interpreting the results of these assessments to determine an appropriate course of action to deal with each hazard identified.
You will investigate complaints regarding housing conditions and undertake detailed surveys and inspections of residential accommodation throughout the District.
With your knowledge of Housing legislation, you’ll be comfortable using formal action where necessary, including attendance at Court where required.
This role will be based at our Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks, Kent TN13 1HG. We currently operate a hybrid working model for the majority of our roles, with your working time split between the office and home (2-3 days).

We are seeking to appoint an inspiring, innovative and highly motivated teacher to join our Sycamore Resourced Base provision team, with experience teaching SEND students at KS3 and KS4 to GCSE level. The successful candidate will join a passionate and experienced team and be well supported to continue their own professional development. Our Sycamore provision is a MLD specialist, resourced base provision onsite for students with a range of additional needs who have an EHCP and require additional support to access the national curriculum and GCSEs. The resourced base allows students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) to access mainstream education where they receive a meaningful and personalised education whilst integrating within a mainstream setting.
Students are taught their subjects by the specialist teaching staff with the support of teaching assistants. Students do also access some lessons in the main school building too, including some options subjects in Key Stage 4. The Sycamore team also support the students pastorally in form time and in PSHE. We are seeking an environmental health specialist with experience of commenting on planning applications from a public health perspective. A good knowledge of key areas of concern in this area with Air Quality, Environmental Noise and Contaminated Land within your remit. You will work with our Planning department across all stages of the planning process, providing advice and guidance on theenvironmental and public health impact of applications and proposed developments. You will help provide evidence and expert witness evidence for appeals, hearings and public inquiries.

The Role
The Falkland Islands Government Air Service provides an essential inter-island passenger and freight service as well as aerial surveillance of the fishery conservation zone around the islands.
A Licensed Aircraft Engineer is required to join the small maintenance team responsible for the continuous maintenance of the fleet of five BN Islander aircraft. This involves routine and remedial maintenance, repairs and rectification of the aircraft and its associated systems.
The Person
Applicants must hold an EASA Part 66 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence with preferably at least 4 years’ experience, Type Rated on BN2B Islander aircraft, and Lycoming 0-540 Engines. Additionally, the applicant must have a minimum of 6 months experience on Islander aircraft logged during the preceding two years.&nbsp; Full details of the essential and desirable requirements for the post are outlined in the application pack.

You will also coordinate the progression and tracking of learners’ achievements. In your role you will lead study programmes to attain outstanding achievement and student retention and progression.
