Objective of role

As a Careers & Skills Facilitator, you will play a key role in improving careers education and opportunities for young people across South London.

Working across schools, colleges, employers and local partners, you will use your ability to build relationships, influence decision-makers and identify innovative solutions to drive meaningful improvements in careers provision, employer engagement and young people's progression outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working across complex systems, bringing people together around shared goals and turning insight into action. You will act as a trusted adviser to education leaders, helping them strengthen careers education, connect with employers and create better opportunities for young people, particularly those most at risk of disadvantage or becoming NEET.

About the role

In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

  • Manage a portfolio of schools and colleges across South London, building trusted relationships with senior leaders, supporting continuous improvement in careers education.
  • Use data and performance insight to identify gaps, target support and drive measurable improvements in outcomes for young people.
  • Work with employers to create high-quality experiences of the workplace, helping young people develop skills, confidence and progression opportunities.
  • Influence and support education leaders to embed careers education within whole-school improvement strategies.
  • Design and facilitate CPD sessions, networks and improvement activities that build capacity across the education system.
  • Identify new opportunities, partnerships and approaches that improve participation, employer engagement and progression outcomes.
  • Collaborate with local authorities, employers and strategic partners to strengthen the careers and skills ecosystem across South London.
  • Support the delivery of key Careers Hub priorities, helping to shape a more connected and employer-informed system

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Relationship Building and Stakeholder Influence a strong track record of building productive relationships and influencing a wide range of stakeholders, including education leaders, employers, partners and community organisations.
  • Programme and Project Delivery - experience of planning, delivering and evaluating programmes or projects, achieving measurable outcomes and using performance information to improve delivery.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making - experience of using data, evidence and insight to identify priorities, target interventions and improve performance and outcomes.
  • Innovation and Problem Solving - a curious and innovative mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities, test new approaches and continuously improve services and delivery.
  • Communication and Facilitation - excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage, persuade and influence different audiences and encourage positive change.
  • Commitment to Improving Outcomes for Young People

Experience of delivering activity that improves outcomes for young people, with an understanding of the barriers they face and the role of education, employers and careers provision in supporting progression.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to influence how careers education and employer engagement are delivered across South London.

You'll work directly with school and college leaders, employers, local authorities and strategic partners to shape programmes that improve opportunities for young people. We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, highly collaborative and confident engaging senior stakeholders, who can spot opportunities, build partnerships and turn ideas into action.

If you're passionate about creating better outcomes for young people, enjoy working with a diverse range of partners and thrive in an environment where innovation, influence and impact matter, we'd love to hear from you.
