The Role - Maths Teacher :

We are looking to appoint a full time qualified Maths Teacher who will have a significant impact on the learning of pupils with additional needs. The role will involve working with all years, delivering a variety of high quality lessons across Key Stage 3 and 4, to include GCSE and Functional Skills.

The successful candidate will work in a secure and supportive environment that helps pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties overcome their challenges.

The position requires a candidate who can build relationships with children with SEMH difficulties and work in collaboration with colleagues to create an inclusive and supportive environment that is conducive to learning. The teacher and students benefit from small class sizes that help nurture achievement.

Key Responsibilities - Maths Teacher (Qualified):

  • Design and implement Maths lessons that promotes academic progress for all students
  • Ensure that the Maths curriculum is well-planned, sequenced, and relevant to the needs of Impact North West Schools students
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Maths lessons, making adjustments as necessary to improve student outcomes
  • Monitor and assess student progress in Maths, using data to inform teaching strategies and interventions
  • Embed literacy skills across the Maths curriculum, developing resources as needed
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment, using trauma-informed and attachment-aware approaches
  • Set goals that stretch and challenge pupils of all backgrounds and abilities.
  • Work collaboratively with pastoral teams to address barriers to learning and promote emotional resilience
  • Organise enrichment activities to inspire students and foster a love of learning

What We Are Looking For - Maths Teacher:

We are seeking individuals who have:

  • An ability to be flexible in the subjects that are taught.
  • Excellent teaching and assessment skills, with the ability to adapt to the needs of SEMH students
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families
  • Data analysis and interpretation skills, to use assessment information to inform teaching and learning
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to share best practises with colleagues
  • Ability to foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment, using trauma-informed and attachment-aware approaches
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • To follow our safeguarding policy and ensure all students are safe at all times.

Qualifications and training

  • Good honours Degree

Experience

  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the Maths curriculum, including current best practices and research.
  • Previous roles teaching SEHM students is desirable.
