Introduction:

Our Risk and Assurance team sits within L&Q’s Transformation and Change function. We help the organisation make informed, confident decisions by strengthening how risk is identified, understood, and managed across the business.

From supporting the corporate strategy to ensuring we’re prepared for unexpected events, our work plays a critical role in keeping L&Q resilient in an increasingly complex and fast-moving world.

Overview of the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a curious and motivated graduate to start a career in risk management and organisational resilience.

You’ll work closely with experienced professionals to help embed L&Q’s Risk and Assurance Framework across the organisation, while also playing a key role in strengthening our approach to critical incident management and business continuity.

From day one, you’ll be contributing to meaningful work — analysing risks, supporting workshops, working with colleagues across the business, and helping ensure we’re ready to respond to challenges when they arise.

Alongside your day-to-day role, you’ll complete recognised qualifications in Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity, building both technical expertise and practical experience.

Join our Risk and Assurance Team at L&Q:

  • Build specialist expertise in risk management and business continuity — highly sought-after skills
  • Work across the organisation, collaborating with a wide range of teams and senior stakeholders
  • Bring fresh thinking and challenge the status quo, helping us continuously improve
  • You’ll join a supportive and experienced Risk and Assurance team of 5 which sits within the larger Transformation and Change directorate which leads on the Group’s large Transformation Portfolio – central to the delivery of the new 5-year corporate strategy.

If this sounds like you, we would love for you to apply!

Your impact in the role:

In this role, you’ll:

  • Support the embedding of L&Q’s Risk and Assurance Framework across the organisation
  • Assist with risk workshops and risk reviews, helping teams identify and manage key risks
  • Analyse risk, control and assurance information to identify trends, gaps and opportunities for improvement
  • Contribute to horizon scanning and scenario analysis, helping us prepare for emerging risks
  • Help strengthen our critical incident and business continuity planning, working with teams to ensure robust plans are in place
  • Support the testing of business continuity and incident response plans, ensuring we are prepared for real-world events
  • Maintain and improve risk management systems and records
  • Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the business to support a proactive risk culture

Through your work, you’ll directly contribute to the delivery of L&Q’s corporate strategy and help ensure we remain resilient in the face of change.

What you'll bring:

  • A Degree; would especially suit someone with a Business Administration, Analytics, Housing or Public Policy. (any discipline, though Business, Analytics, Housing or Public Policy are particularly relevant but not essential).
  • Minimum qualification level – Maths and English Level 4 GCSE

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly
  • A collaborative approach, and able to gain confidence to work with a range of stakeholders
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A proactive, solutions-focused attitude and willingness to take ownership
