Prevention Partnerships/Young Futures Panel Co-Ordinator

Prevention Partnerships/Young Futures Panel Co-Ordinator

Youth Work
£45,750 - £49,056 per year

About this job

This is a unique opportunity to join the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham’s Community Safety Partnership Team as a Young Futures Prevention Partnership Co-ordinator, supporting the delivery of a key Home Office initiative aimed at preventing serious violence and reducing youth crime through early intervention. The role will co-ordinate a multi-agency response to identify and support vulnerable young people who may be at risk of exploitation, offending or becoming victims of crime, recognising the strong link between victimisation and involvement in the criminal justice system. Working across partners including police, education, health, youth services, social care and the voluntary sector, you will help drive a whole-system approach that delivers meaningful and timely interventions for young people and their families. This is an exciting time to join a borough committed to innovation, partnership working and creating safer communities, where you will play a central role in shaping preventative approaches that improve outcomes and help young people build positive futures.

About you

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated professional with experience of working in partnership environments to support vulnerable children, young people and families. You will have strong administrative and co-ordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records, prepare reports, monitor performance data and support the effective delivery of partnership meetings and action plans.

The successful candidate will be confident working across a range of agencies and stakeholders, building positive relationships with statutory services, schools, health partners, voluntary organisations and community groups to ensure a joined-up approach to early intervention and prevention.

You will have excellent communication skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving and a clear understanding of the challenges affecting young people at risk of exploitation, violence and involvement in crime. Most importantly, you will be passionate about improving outcomes for young people and committed to delivering meaningful, trauma-informed interventions that make a lasting difference within Barking and Dagenham’s communities.

About us

The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham is one of the capital’s most ambitious and forward-thinking boroughs, with a strong commitment to creating safer, healthier and more inclusive communities for all residents.

This is an exciting time to join the Community Safety Partnership Team as a Young Futures Prevention Partnership Co-ordinator, at the forefront of delivering the Home Office’s Young Futures initiative. The programme is focused on early intervention and prevention, supporting vulnerable young people who may be at risk of exploitation, violence or entering the criminal justice system. Recognising that many young people involved in offending are also victims of crime themselves, the role takes a whole-system, partnership-led approach to delivering meaningful and lasting intervention.

Working alongside statutory services, schools, community organisations and local residents, you will play a key role in shaping innovative responses that help young people thrive, reduce harm and build stronger futures across the borough.
