Working in a hybrid capacity, you will be part of the Platform and Live Systems team within IT Operations and will have:
<ul>
<li>Experience of the Microsoft 365 environment and its administration</li>
<li>Experience in scripting, in particular Windows PowerShell, would be an advantage</li>
<li>An understanding of proxy servers</li>
<li>Experience working within a demanding customer-focused IT service</li>
<li>Good written, telephone and face-to-face communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to work on your own at times and use your initiative and multitask</li>
<li>Knowledge and understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) environments would be an advantage</li>
</ul>
It is important that you can cope with a demanding workload, work to tight deadlines, and be able to support other team members with the overall responsibilities of the service in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. You must be flexible in your approach to work to meet the needs of the service and have a desire to develop and learn further skills.
The successful candidate must have experience working in an IT operational environment. As the post is career graded, varying levels of experience will be considered, and appropriate training provided to bring them up to the higher levels.

The post holder will be responsible for administration of the triage system for the Housing Solutions &amp; Private Sector Team which will include;

<li>Dealing with first contact of homeless applicants, providing administration of applications and providing advice or referring to the relevant part of the Housing Options &amp; Private Sector Team, both on the telephone and online.</li>
<li>Provide applicants with comprehensive advice taking into account their needs, their eligibility for assistance, their priority on the housing register and their ability to sustain private rented accommodation.</li>
<li>Produce comprehensive written assessments, for homeless applicants ensuring that the decision letter meets the requirements of homeless legislation and is able to withstand scrutiny.</li>
<li>To input data/information into manual and computerised systems.</li>
<li>To identify opportunities to prevent the threat of homelessness for applicants and to present ideas to senior officers for supporting people in housing crisis</li>
</ul>
You must be able to demonstrate the following:
<ul>
<li>Knowledge of homeless legislation</li>
<li>Excellent numeracy and literacy skills;</li>
<li>Confidence, enthusiasm and a flexible approach;</li>
<li>Excellent administration skills, accuracy and attention to detail;</li>
<li>Good keyboard skills and the proven ability to learn and utilise new software;</li>
<li>Good customer care skills;</li>
<li>The ability to discuss sensitive issues with our customers calmly;</li>
<li>5 GCSE (Grade C (4) or above) or equivalent, including English and Mathematics</li>
