Job Introduction

Lincolnshire County Council’s Technical Services Partnership (TSP) provides technical and specialist highway engineering expertise and design services.


We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the design and delivery of major infrastructure projects across the county.

About the role

In this role, you will work as part of a specialist highways team delivering a varied and technically challenging workload across Lincolnshire. You will be responsible for:


  • Providing leadership and technical oversight in shaping and influencing highway designs, with a focus on active travel schemes and network safety and capacity improvements
  • Mentoring and supporting the team delivering and supervising new highway infrastructure schemes across the county
  • Identifying, developing, and delivering targeted training to build team capability and promote best practice
  • Driving continuous improvements to internal processes, procedures, and technical guidance to enhance service delivery
  • Building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with clients across Lincolnshire County Council and other key stakeholders

About you

As a Senior Engineer, you will deliver your own schemes while supporting the Principal Engineer in leading a team, overseeing a portfolio of highway projects to ensure delivery to programme and budget, mentoring junior staff, and building effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.


We’re looking for an enthusiastic and innovative individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, able to manage multiple projects and consistently meet demanding deadlines. You will think creatively and work collaboratively to drive improvements in team performance and service delivery.


Ideal candidates will complement our collaborative and personable team, where working together and supporting one another is core to our values.


Applicants should have experience and expertise in the highways sector and can confidently apply their technical skills while working effectively with others. We are ideally looking for an Incorporated Engineer and/or Chartered Engineer in a relevant discipline; however, we welcome applications from individuals with equivalent industry experience.


Please note: this role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area and therefore an ability to move around the county according to service need is required.


The role is based inLancaster House in Lincoln, where your presence will be required for a minimum of two days per week and will reflect the needs of your team and the business. Some site attendance will also be required.
