Salary: Grade 13 - £49,221 to £53,826 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) (Pay award pending) (plus Market premium subject to review)

Working Hours: 37 Hours Per Week

Are you a passionate and experienced Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) looking for a leadership role where you can truly make a difference?

We have an exciting opportunity for an AMHP Team Manager to join our dynamic Mental Health Service. This role offers a unique chance to work alongside our existing AMHP Manager to provide strong, supportive leadership across our AMHP service and play a key role in overseeing our Forensic Mental Health Team.

About the Role

This is a varied and impactful leadership role where you will:

  • Lead and support a team of AMHPs, ensuring high-quality statutory practice under the Mental Health Act (MHA).
  • Work jointly with the current AMHP Manager to provide operational oversight and strategic direction.
  • Provide out-of-hours support and guidance to AMHPs.
  • Take a key role in overseeing the Forensic Mental Health Team, ensuring robust coordination, risk management, and partnership working.
  • Promote excellent practice, ensuring decisions are legally sound, person-centred, and outcome-focused.
  • Contribute to service development, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support staff wellbeing, professional development, and reflective practice.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A qualified AMHP (essential) with current approval or willingness to reapprove within 3 months of starting the post.
  • An experienced practitioner with strong knowledge of Mental Health Act, Care Act, and safeguarding frameworks.
  • A confident leader who can support, guide, and challenge practice where necessary.
  • Skilled in managing complexity, particularly within forensic and high-risk environments.
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality services and improving outcomes for people with complex mental health needs.
  • A collaborative professional who values partnership working across health, social care, and criminal justice agencies.
