SEND IASS Triage and Administration Coordinator

SEND IASS Triage and Administration Coordinator

Social Care
£27,254 - £27,694 per year

About the role

Are you organised, compassionate, and passionate about making a difference for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are looking for a proactive Triage & Administration Coordinator to join North Northamptonshire's SEND Information, Advice and Support Service (SEND IASS). This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of the service, where you will be the first point of contact for families, young people, and professionals, ensuring enquiries are handled promptly, sensitively, and effectively. You will provide high-quality triage, administrative and financial support, maintain accurate records, coordinate meetings and events, and help develop our website and social media presence. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will play a vital role in ensuring families receive timely access to the information, advice, and support they need, helping us deliver an inclusive, responsive, and person-centred service across North Northamptonshire.

What will you be doing?

As our Triage & Administration Coordinator, you will be at the heart of SEND IASS, helping to ensure children, young people and families receive timely access to information, advice and support. You will be the first point of contact for many service users, managing enquiries with empathy, professionalism and efficiency while supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the service.

You'll be responsible for triaging incoming enquiries, maintaining accurate and confidential records, coordinating referrals, supporting financial and administrative processes, and organising meetings and events. You'll also contribute to the development of our website and social media presence, helping us share accessible information and identify themes that can drive service improvements. Working closely with colleagues and partner organisations, you'll play a vital role in delivering a responsive, inclusive and high-quality service for families across North Northamptonshire.

About you

We're looking for a highly organised and compassionate individual who is passionate about putting children, young people and families at the centre of everything they do. You will understand the importance of delivering a child-centred service and be committed to ensuring that every interaction is supportive, respectful and focused on achieving the best possible outcomes.

You will have strong administrative experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a varied workload with accuracy and attention to detail. Confident using databases and Microsoft Office applications, you'll be able to work independently, as part of a team, prioritise competing demands and build positive relationships with colleagues, families and partner agencies.

The role requires someone who can handle sensitive, confidential and, at times, emotionally challenging information with empathy, professionalism and resilience. You will be comfortable supporting families who may be experiencing uncertainty, frustration or distress, and able to respond with tact, understanding and sound judgement while maintaining appropriate boundaries and confidentiality.

Most importantly, you will be approachable, adaptable and committed to delivering excellent customer service. If you thrive in a busy environment, enjoy helping people navigate complex situations, and want to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people with SEND and their families, we'd love to hear from you.
