    Job Title: Night Recovery Worker

    Location: Based within Croydon. Please be kindly aware there is no step free access at this location and some of our other sites.

    Salary: £28,800

    Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week on a rolling rota Monday to Sunday between 20:00 and 08:30. You may be required to work outside these hours as per resident and service requirements, this may also include the occasional days as required

    About the Role

    We're hiring a Night Recovery Worker to join our team based in Croydon. The service provides 24/7 support to females with forensic mental health needs, complex needs, and dual diagnosis. You will be at the forefront of providing person centred support, to help our residents overcome personal challenges, and meet their desired goals.

    You will play a crucial role in continuing the high quality support which is provided during the day, ensuring a safe, respectful, and responsive environment for residents. You will be expected to remain awake, alert, accessible, and actively engaged throughout the shift. There is a focus on welfare checks, providing resident support, and completing administration tasks, ensuring clear handovers are prepared for the day staff and managers.

    Key Responsibilities Include:

    • Support residents who may be facing challenges with their mental health and or substance use
    • Supporting with the creation of tailored support plans in collaboration with the day team and resident
    • Support residents to build skills and confidence to build confidence towards independent living
    • Monitoring residents’ wellbeing, carrying out regular welfare checks, and responding to any incidents or emergencies.
    • Remain alert and monitor CCTV throughout the shift
    • Complete all routine night duties and any tasks handed over by the day shift or service manager. Prepare regular handovers for the day staff.
    • Plan activities to engage residents with other people, communities, and opportunities during the evening which may include movie nights and games nights.
    • Be a valued and reliable member of the team, completing handovers for day colleagues for a seamless service.

    About You

    We're looking for a dedicated and passionate individual who understands the needs of our residents including mental health and complex needs. You will be a self motivated individual who can stay engaged during the shift, able to be proactive in managing your own time during busy or quiet periods to ensure productivity. You will be able to work collaboratively as part of a team, and will have alignment with our SIG values. You will be keen to support our residents to achieve their individual goals and support them to be the best versions of themselves.

    • Due to the nature of this service, it is an occupational requirement that the post holder is female
    • Previous professional or lived experience supporting people who may suffer with mental health
    • Ability to engage with people from different backgrounds, build rapport, and empower them to achieve their personal goals
    • Ability to show empathy and compassion and the different challenges people face; ability to come up with creative solutions to support them in their journey
    • Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs
    • Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents
    • Understanding of the different needs people with multiple and complex needs have and be aware of the social marginalisation that can be attached to people who face personal challenges
