About the role
At West Northants Council, it’s about our people and the difference they make. As an Inspections Officer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the accuracy and integrity of the Council Tax and Business Rates property base across West Northamptonshire. Your work will help ensure properties are correctly assessed, income is accurately collected and the Council can continue delivering essential services to our communities.
This is a varied and rewarding field-based role that combines site inspections, customer interaction and investigative work. You'll have the opportunity to work independently across West Northamptonshire while contributing to the Council’s financial sustainability and helping ensure fair and consistent taxation for residents and businesses.
Additional information
You’re a motivated and organised individual who enjoys working independently and taking ownership of your workload. With strong communication and interpersonal skills, you’re confident engaging with a wide range of customers and stakeholders and can explain information clearly and professionally.
You have excellent attention to detail and are comfortable assessing information, maintaining accurate records and applying legislation in a practical way. Experience conducting property inspections, site visits or similar field-based work would be beneficial, along with the ability to work confidently as a lone worker.
