Education, Health and Care Service Manager

Education
£65,393 - £69,599 per year

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join North Northamptonshire Council at an exciting time for SEND.

We’re looking for an experienced, creative and ambitious leader to join our SEND leadership team as Head of Statutory Assessment Service. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and transform our statutory SEND services, ensuring children and young people receive high-quality Education, Health and Care (EHC) assessments and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP's) and plans that make a meaningful difference to their lives.

You will oversee all statutory SEND processes, including mediation and Tribunals, while working collaboratively with education, health, care, commissioning, sufficiency planning and parent carer partners to drive the delivery of the SEND Reform Plan.

Working alongside a supportive and forward-thinking leadership team, you’ll lead improvement, champion innovation, ensure that we are legally compliant and help deliver excellent outcomes for children, young people and families across North Northamptonshire.

What will you be doing?

  • Leading the Statutory Assessment Team to deliver a high-quality, legally compliant service.
  • Driving service improvement and embracing innovative ways of working.
  • Working collaboratively with schools, families, children and young people, health, care partners and wider stakeholders
  • Using data and performance information to improve timeliness, quality and outcomes.
  • Supporting the delivery of our ambitious SEND Reform Programme.

About you

You’ll be an inspiring leader with significant experience of SEND statutory processes and a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people. You’ll enjoy leading change, developing high-performing teams and building positive relationships with partners.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who brings fresh ideas, values collaboration and wants to help shape the future of SEND services within North Northamptonshire.

Our Benefits

Here at North Northamptonshire Council, we’re transforming for the better, using all our creativity and imagination to create the best life for our local people.

You’ll find that we have a wide range of careers that may be more surprising than you think!

Why choose us?

  • a competitive salary
  • a pension scheme, where we pay a significant contribution on top of your contribution. It provides life cover and ill-health protection.
  • lots of opportunities to develop your skills, knowledge and potential in a large unitary council
  • generous leave entitlement (28 days, rising to 33 days) and bank holidays, plus the option to buy up to an extra 10 days
  • hybrid and flexible working arrangements, where practicable for service needs to help you with a healthy work-life balance.

We provide a range of great benefits such as an Employee Assistance Programme, an Employee Benefits Scheme, wellbeing support, travel rates at HMRC rates, as well as supporting a range of active Employee Network Groups.
