Job Introduction

Join the Oracle Fusion Programme Team on an exciting transformational journey.

We are inviting expressions of interest from experienced and enthusiastic experts with experience of Finance and Procurement to play a pivotal role in the implementation plan for our new Oracle Fusion Solution. We’ve just closed off the Advisory phase of the programme and will be moving to Conference Room Pilots of the solution in the coming weeks.

This is a unique opportunity to shape a joined-up Finance, HR and Payroll system that helps ensure the tools we use every day truly work for us and end users across the authority. It’s also a chance for you to develop your strategic thinking and experience of change management within a supportive project team.

We are recruiting to this vacancy on an initial 12 month fixed term contract and are looking for individuals who can bring their knowledge and experience of Finance and Procurement.

Main Responsibilities

As a key member of the programme team you will:

  • Ensure the system configuration reflects the needs of the business, streamlining current processes, and creating an improved end user experience.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure their voice shapes the system design.
  • Attend and contribute to workshops, testing, documentation reviews and system sign off.
  • Work with the testing manager to develop test plans and help resolve issues or defects.
  • Support the creation and delivery of quality training and guidance for all users.
  • Lead planning and readiness for go live including processes, data and training
  • Act as lead and the key communication link between the project and the subject matter experts in your area of expertise.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for you to,

  • have a sound understanding of Finance and Procurement
  • have a sound understanding of policies and procedures in your area of expertise
  • have the ability to translate these into system and process improvements
  • have confidence in communication with the ability to engage and motivate staff across services
  • be organised, motivated and calm under pressure
  • be interested in systems and change

Previous experience of system change would be useful but is not essential.

There will be a requirement for a significant amount of office based working to support configuration and training throughout the project.

Closing date 9th August 2026 - if we receive a large number of applications we may close applications sooner than this date.

Interviews will be held on 13th August 2026

Don’t feel you meet all the requirements? We value transferable skills, experiences, and qualifications so consider applying anyway or for an informal chat about the role please contact Debbie Haines or Bronya Jeffryes at deborah.haines@staffordshire.gov.uk or bronya.jeffryes@staffordshire.gov.uk
