The centres provide a hub for the shopping, business, residential, leisure, and in some cases tourism needs of their catchments. The visitor economy provides key footfall, from Sherwood Forest and the home of Robin Hood to the Southwell Minster, to Newark Castle, Newark Market Place, and National Civic War Centre. You will be one of two senior leads reporting to the Business Manager of the Economic Growth and Visitor Economy service of the Council, leading on place-making, regeneration, visitor economy and supporting high streets. The Council has a strong track record of delivery with its partners, from business support programmes to town centre events, to large capital interventions such as the redevelopment of the Newark former Robin Hood Hotel, the rejuvenation of Newark Buttermarket, the development of the former Newark Marks and Spencer’s, the opening of the Newark Air and Space Institute and Ollerton Town Centre Regeneration.
