The job holder will undertake a full range of work with the offender whilst resident at the Approved Premises. In addition, will contribute to the management of residents’ risk. This post will involve substantial out of hours work, both waking night duty and weekend work. Regularly engage with residents in a pro-social manner. Contribute towards the protection of the residents through observation to ensure adherence to their risk management plans and general wellbeing.<br>• Actively engage with and monitor behaviour of high risk residents and motivate residents to ensure compliance. Challenge and manage appropriately abusive or aggressive behaviour.<br>• Contribute to the risk management plans of residents by observing and reporting any significant changes relating to risk and/or re-offending to any non-compliance within agreed enforcement procedures.<br>• Contribute to the sentence plan objectives of the residents through active engagement in purposeful activities as agreed by the AP Manager and Offender Manager.<br>• Ensure that the AP is locked and secure during curfew period. Much of these woodlands have significant recreational, heritage and conservation value. </p><p><strong>Solent Beat: </strong></p><p>Mixed woodland blocks spread across south central Hampshire and including the Isle of Wight. Forest management includes PAWS restoration, diversifying species and age structure and moving to continuous cover forestry, as well as responding to current tree pests and diseases e.g. Ash dieback. The beat area includes several Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). It includes several Leasehold woods where public access is limited as well as locally popular woods with members of the public.</p><p>The job-holder will work in a team alongside another Forest Craftsperson and a Tractor driver. This role sits in the Operations team, which focuses on developing and maintaining Defra’s ability to deliver operational capabilities in the event of a CBRN incident.</p><p>Defra is the department responsible for safeguarding our natural environment, supporting our world-leading food and farming industry, and sustaining a thriving rural economy. Our broad remit means we play a major role in people’s day-to-day life, from the food we eat, and the air we breathe, to the water we drink. This broad remit and the complexity of Defra’s interests means that planning for and responding to major emergencies is a key part of our work.</p><h4>Job description</h4><p>The Flood, Water and CBRN Emergencies team is a fast paced and high-profile team at the heart of Defra’s contingency planning, working closely with resilience teams across government, scientists and engineers, operational leads, communications colleagues, Private Offices and Ministers.</p><ul><li> We prepare for the recovery following the release of Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) materials into the open or built environment, and the recovery from nuclear accidents.</li><li> We plan for and respond to natural hazards such as flooding.</li><li> We lead on risk management and planning for threats to water supply and lead on incidents working closely with the water sector and other sector leads across government.</li><li> We also coordinate Defra’s interests in other incidents, working across the Defra Group to understand risks and provide ministers with advice, consistent and timely information during an emergency.</li></ul><h4>Person specification</h4><p>The primary purpose of the role is to build, manage and co-ordinate stakeholder relationships and foster collaborative working. <h4>Job summary</h4>The Asset Denial teams work to substantially reduce the level of serious and organised crime affecting the UK by denying criminals access to their illicit assets, recovering the proceeds of crime, and deterring and disrupting further criminality. The Civil Recovery and Tax team (CRT) utilises an array of asset denial powers to target the highest risk and most serious and organised criminals.<h4>Job description</h4><p>The Financial Investigations Manager for the Civil Recovery &amp; Tax team (CRT) is responsible for delivering asset recovery against high impact economic crime through managing and leading a team of Financial Investigators responsible for developing and progressing complex investigations on development and tasked CRT financial investigations under Part 5 Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) 2002. </p><p>You will lead and manage a team of financial investigators, acting as senor investigating officer and supporting progression of operations from tasking through to recovery to erode the profit motive thereby undermining a key incentive associated with the highest risk and serious and organised crime.</p><p>Your varied duties mean that every day will bring a new challenge. With activities often of a time-critical nature, you must be able to multi-task and prioritise whilst supporting your team and developing their talents. </p><p>The role utilises a wide range of knowledge and experience around legislation, good practice and shared learning delivered in a timely fashion. </p><p><strong>Part-time minimum: 35 hours</strong></p><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities </strong></p><p>Lead a Team</p><p>Manage and lead a team of Financial Investigators responsible for developing and progressing complex investigations on development and tasked CRT financial investigations.</p><p>Provide Direction</p><p>Provide strategic, operational and tactical financial direction and advice to Investigations Teams and Financial Investigators.</p><p>Authorising Officer</p><p>To act as Authorising Officer, applying specialist knowledge in respect of POCA 2002;</p><p>Asset Recovery</p><p>To deliver asset recovery against high impact economic crime through the use of asset recovery tools and legislation.
